That is a great way of looking at it. I initially though of tribes as a way to welcome new community members into a group of peers to engage and support. Like throwing out a bunch of Facebook friend invitations to fill up your feed and have friends to discuss things with.
Being a business owner very interested in commerce and marketing, I always saw the potential for businesses entering the blockchain. Seeing the power and influence of companies like @blocktrades with their early adoption and ability to use their influence to reward folks for using their service is cool. I picture retail outlets being able to have people check in to the store using steem, taking advantage of steem-communicates promotions, and the ability of the businesses to reward engagement and loyalty. So much more than that.
It may be a year and a bit late but I am excited as hell. Starting a localized online marketing business soon and will be cutting edge with the inclusion of steem in the toolbox and offering.
