Oftentimes when people move to Panama, they think the only option is Panama City. They are looking for private schools for their children, entertainment, and good shopping. However, these conveniences are available in other parts of the country as well.
Volcan is our town of choice and we are happy with this decision. We are about an hour from David where there are movie theaters, American restaurants, trampoline parks and much more! We chose our little town for many reasons including the amazing weather and great local food. Plus we have a little more space here to run around outside!

One thing many people do not know about our town is that Volcan has some great bilingual schools. Instituto Bilingue Paulletino is one such school that is an affordable private school. I recently met some of these students and was amazed at how good their English was! There is also an Adventist school that is private and bilingual as well.
We chose to homeschool our children because that is what we have always done. Having these private school options is great for those who do not want to or are unable to homeschool. I am glad that Volcan has these options, as well as public school for anyone with students who is interested in moving here.
