RE: The dumbest thing I ever did, yet was so much fun.

in #pancakes6 years ago

The dumbest thing I have ever is someone made a blogging platform that encourages free speech. Then some of the more self righteous users decided that to much self promoting and self voting was bad (even though that is the way the system was designed). So they got large accounts and spent most of there time down voting users THEY disagreed with even though regulars users had no problems with them due to profit sharing being built into the system via curation. And now that blogging platform that was supposed to in-courage free speech and be decentralized is the most regulated, centralized in the crypto space.

Sort:

Setting up hundreds of accounts posting garbage to abuse ByteBall airdrop is not a free speach problem.

There are many other examples to consider....
What about posting children being harmed, the steemitdefenceleague, someone who games the steemit sign up process and has 200 faucet delegation accounts voting on the same spam 10 times a day. The list is endless.

The problem is people don't understand that with choices come consequences and they are not always good ones.

Free speech is free but with free speech come free consequences. You can not separate the two.
You can not plant watermelon seeds and grow tomato plants!

https://steemit.com/@greeting is a classic example of free speech spam!

Another problem is people were fooled into thinking that steemit was decentralized? It never has been decentralized !
It has become more centralized over time, but from the beginning it is and was a Privately Held Company Started by @ned and @dan!

Who backed them and where did the startup capital come from?

Will we ever know?

So much speculation with out facts or true knowledge of what is really going on!

Well said.

On a separate note @themarkymark and crew originally attacked my account for copy pasting the title on a free giveaway I was running .... What kind of moron attacks someone for giving away votes but somehow misses all the things that matter that you highlight in your first paragraph.

Actually, I had no part of that, I got involved when you created hundreds of spam accounts to abuse Byteball. Despite the fact, you tried to accuse me multiple times.

@themarkymark The owners of byteball set it up that way and even told you so. Besides if they stay in business for awhile I am going to develop a useful app for there platform.
