Made three laps from Blossom to El Cap

On high pressure weather days you don't really think about a "good day" of paraglding

For some reason, the thermals don't want to release, the edges of the lift are sharp and normally you end up having a sled ride to the bottom of the hill

We had a good group of people on the launch because there hasn't been a good flying day in months. At some point you just need to go and get some flying in or you get complacent.

I launched first when I saw a couple of crows in a thermal right off launch. I took that thermal to about 2k and eventually went over to El Cap. It didn't take long to get up on the face of El Cap. This day was not supposed to be that good but turned out to be smooth and incredible. We are talking about 3 laps good. Anyway, Enjoy this video.

You say El Cap and all I know is Yosemite. I wish I could fly that El Cap... Stupid Nat Park rules. I need air time, this rain's been a pain in the ass and the winds are always completely wrong when it's clear.

I do know a couple guys that have been flying Yosemite El Cap with hangliders but they get some kind of special permissions.

Only rigid wings are allowed in the valley and only by permit. They launch from glacier point and can make rounds of valley. Quite annoying the preference shown.
