Yo Steemit ---- Let's Talk Parenting

Lets talk Parenting! Shall we?

By now, I'm sure you've discovered that being a great parent requires a whole lot more than wishes, good intentions and prayers.

Among the requirement for being a great parent is the acquisition of knowledge, the application of the knowledge acquired, the deliberate effort to stay healthy etc

Cranky or stressed parents can't be effective at parenting.

Parents who can't learn, unlearn or relearn can not be effective at parenting.

This means that the extent to which we will be successful at parenting will be the extent to which we are parenting literate.

How parenting literate are you?

Are you deliberate about knowledge acquisition?

I love to ask parents these questions- how many of us still have black and white TVs in our sitting rooms?

How many of us do not have mobile phones because of the 'stress' of learning the functions of the phone?

If we have become compliant technological-wise, then, why are we lagging behind parenting-wise?

If despite the financial cost and the energy and patience put into learning how to operate modern gadgets,
we still acquire them all the same, why aren't we applying such commitment to being effective parents?

Why do we seem to keep employing 19th Century strategies in this 21st Century for these 'digital-age' children and expect to succeed

Our children will connect better with us and we will be happier parents once we opt for knowledge constantly.

Let me know your thoughts. parenting-resource-guide1.jpg
