Confused Little Monster
Little Monster is always telling that he is "no longer a baby". Each time mommy calls him "baby", he is very fast to remind me that he is growing up very fast.
However, he does not want to wean from the bottle! Though there are times when he agrees to drink milk from the cup, that is very seldom. It really has to be from the bottle.
Each time he wants his dede (feeding bottle), he would come and give me the bottle so I can make the milk for him.
"Only babies drink from the dede," I would tell him.
"NO! I am not a baby," he would firmly say. Then continue to ask for the dede.
Sometimes I would jokingly offer him the breast to feed, to which he would disgustingly refuse.
"Eeewww! Yuck!"
Then we will all laugh.
2 Years of Breastfeeding
Of all my children, LM is the one breastfed longest -- 2 years. It was definitely not easy especially for a working mom like me. He was on breastmilk exclusively for the first year where I religiously pumped milk twice a day at work just to ensure that I keep my milk supply.
During his second year, we supplemented with formula while I was at work as I stopped expressing already but fed direct each time we were together.
Weaning
The weaning from breast was quite tough, we had to think of several antics so he will stop feeding.
The winner?
No advertisement intended, but Vicks Vaporub! Lol. He detested the smell and he weaned from breast in just 2 days. 😉
I guess the fact that he was already bottlefeeding was also a big help in our weaning process.
From the bottle, Kuya was weaned when he came back to the UAE when he was 4 while Little Miss weaned at 3 years. Little Monster is now 2.5 years so it really is not very late.
Not that I am in a hurry to really wean him, but we'd appreciate being saved from the washing part. 😉😆
How about you, at what age did your baby wean? Any tips?

Agree, he is not a baby anymore - maybe he likes to have a baby brother/sister :)
I tried breastfeeding all 3 of my boys. It was very painful because I had an infection and clogged milk ducts each time, but I kept trying until they bit me with their sharp little tooth (about 6 months old). Because of my issues we supplemented with formula but my mother was very quick to thicken their formula with rice cereal. Full babies fell asleep and stayed asleep through the night! No complaints there! :)
My boys were wonderful until they turned 3. They say terrible twos? Nope. It was the terrible 3s and they were rotten boys until they turned about 16. But they know they hold the key to mommy's heart. LOL
I think my mom also got me on formula + rice cereal. hehe... I never tried with my kids though. They are good eaters too. 😜
Glad the boys are great men now... I pray I will not have to deal with rotten ones. 😁
LOL. I think it's a rite of passage. How else will you earn white hairs? I don't color my hair because it's my badge for surviving their teens. Enjoy your kids while they're sweet. hehehe
Well...neither of mine were biological, so no breastfeeding here. And Little Man didn't come to live with me until he was 17 months old. Pretty sure he was taken straight off formula and put right onto junk food :(. I have tried a lot of sippy cups. Probably spent hundreds of dollars on them until I found these guys right here (https://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-Miracle-Trainer-Green-Ounce/dp/B00MRZIFD0/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1532830774&sr=8-3&keywords=360+sippy+cup). I'm sorry, I've forgotten how to do the cool link thing like I used to be able to do. Anyway, these have been teaching my daughter how to drink from a real cup, and both kids enjoy drinking from them. I wasn't sure how they worked, so I had to try it out for myself when we first got them! We have a ton of them now. Love them!
Oh! Thanks for this. I'll try to look for one at our local stores here...
As for the markdown, just remove the space between the close bracket and the open parenthesis. 😉

Oh my gosh, thank you! I knew it was something simple and that if I went back to previous posts I did awhile ago, I'd figure it out. I was way too tired last night to even try. It's crazy how much you forget when you take a break for 10 months. Lol...thank you! And good luck!!
Can I have your kilay janjantot? 🧡
How much are you willing to pay tita 🍎? 😜
