3 Things Parents Do Wrong!

in #parenting7 years ago

Parenting is not an easy task but when it is done by heart, it becomes a little easier. The first few years can be extremely difficult for a mom since she will have to breastfeed the child, take care of everything by herself. The role of father, however, is somewhat easier than a mother because he is busy all the day in office works while mother takes care of everything at home.

Having a child means having a new responsibility. Most moms never complain about how hard they have to work because their love for the children is infinite and that's what makes them forget everything and stay calm. How bad it is to see that when children become young, they start treating parents like someone would treat a stranger (or even worst). Shame on them!

Every father and mother strives to be a unique loving parent for their children but as a matter of fact, we all make mistakes either knowingly or unknowingly. Unfortunately, most parents end up making some mistakes, thanks to the surveys and studies that made possible to know the common mistakes. In this article, we'll look into some of them.

# 1 - Assuming that their children are perfect:

Taking the side of your child when he is wrong doesn't count in love. You must take a moment and give a small lesson with kind words to him but what is seen nowadays is that whenever those parents get information of the mistakes of their children, they start suspecting the intention of that informer. That sucks!

Instead of forming negativity for an informer, wouldn't it be great if you would verify the situation with complete honesty and integrity? You must admit that no one is perfect in the world and so your child too. 1-minute lesson to your child may save him from a big trouble in future life. By taking sides, you are increasing the chances of big damage or troubles in future.

# 2 - Avoiding to do things so that children would praise and love them:

We all want to be loved by our children. We really love to see our children praising us in front of others and loving us, but if you're letting him take a leave from school only because you love him and fearing that your child won't like you if you don't let him take a leave, you're not a good parent.

Sure, you may achieve the temporary love and praises from your child but it won't be for long. Not only it will cause trouble for you but also for your child in future. Always do what's best for your child, and stop doing everything they want.

# 3 - Underestimating their children:

Some of us overestimate our children while some parents underestimate their children. That's because we compare our child with the children of others. When you underestimate your child, then no matter if you express your feelings by words or not, your action will speak for itself and in turn, it will hurt the feelings of your child.

At this point, you must admit that every person is different. Maybe your child has given some great skills that you can't see at the moment? Never underestimate your children.

Stop doing these mistakes or else you'll not only hurt yourself but also your child. But you need to remember one thing, never use abusive language either for your child or for anyone at home nor underestimate your children.
