I was able to passed by the park early this week since it was just along the way to me. If I was able to be there a bit earlier, I would be able to take some photos of the sunset in a bay which is also just near to this park. The sunset by the bay was known to be worth waiting. Anyways, still my night was filled with nice scenes.
Entering the park, you can see the sign name which is the Rizal Park since it was named after our National Hero: Dr. Jose Rizal. The park is commonly known too as Luneta Park and located in Manila, Philippines. It is situated in the University belt location that is why you can expect lots of students in this park. Whether just hanging out in there, doing their assignments or practicing for their demo.
In front of the Park, just on the other side of the road, you can see an unfinished building which is now coined as a national photo bomber since it can be seen when you took a frontal shot of the National monument of Dr. Jose Rizal. Been in the news before and it seemed they just decided to just continue that building.
An embossed map of the Philippines over water is one of the attractions that you can see upon entering the park.
You can see lots of statues inside the park such as the one above, statue symbolizing freedom and heroes who fought for it. Below is a photo of an statue named La Madre Filipina which I think is translated as A Filipina Nun in English.
Several museums were also located inside the Rizal Park. Unfortunately, all were closed already and I was not able to took some photos of what inside of those museums. Photo below of the National Museum of Anthropology.
Other attractions are the big monument of Lapu Lapu (first known Filipino hero who defeated Magellan) and the dove houses that were just open there for any dove that likes to be there as a resident. That is really cool.
You can see the national photo bomber at the back of Lapu Lapu monument since it was a frontal shot.
Since it was night time already when I arrived in there, I was able to enjoy the dancing fountain show. It is in an open space which means everyone in the park can watch it for free. It starts at 6PM and viewers are usually taking photos and videos of the dancing fountain. It is very entertaining to watch. I was able to record a full song dancing fountain show and will put the link below this post.
I cannot stop myself but to took several photos of the dancing fountain. It was colorful and various scenes that could make a good shot, more for those who are professional photographers. Below are some that I would like to share in this post.
I did not forget to took a photo of the National monument in which the remains of Dr. Jose Rizal were placed on the base of his monument. Side view shot to avoid the photo bomber building.
Video of the dancing fountain below. A good night with just me.
- I own the photos and the video on this post.
