A modern phenomenon in London these days is teenagers committing petty crimes before jumping on scooters to make good their escape. Apparently, there's a belief in the criminal underworld that to do so with no helmet on will see the police back off. As, if you're not wearing a helmet and you come off such a vehicle at high speed, the chance of you suffering catastrophic head injuries greatly increases.
Police drivers undergo some of the strictest training amongst road users. Typically, they're comfortable pursuing suspects at high speed and if a person fails to stop, the pursuit will be endangering nearby pedestrians / other road users, too. Then there is the argument that the capital's criminals must not feel they have a carte blanche to commit crime with impunity. That is simply unacceptable.
And the police force is now apparently happy to make that crystal clear.
So are the police right to put out this message? Is it long overdue or hardly necessary?
The scum must learn and if they choose the hard way then so be it many will say.

I think they should chase the criminal either way, and for every danger and destruction that those criminals have caused, they should pay.
But in the same breath, I don't trust the government of England, meaning that they are just role playing. Putting on a facade. Making people think that they care to stop criminals, while they don't actually take any action.
Living in Britain and knowing how shit half the politicians are, I can sure see what you're saying. And this government like to make its cuts to public services (including police numbers) so they can pass off their tax breaks to their wealthy friends, eh?
I don't even ask anymore why they do it or who does it. They just went to far with this one, I don't care for the reasons. Murder, rape, pedophilia, stabbings. The government sees those things as normal, and who complains about it, ... well, you know what happens if you don't follow the rulers command.
I just see it like this, politicians and the government have X job to do, if you don't do it, I go out of my way to make sure they don't get my money.
I'm giving them a year, in that year I won't associate or work with England. No business of mine will get in contact with them, or keep it at least at minimum. And after that year they still do better, I just do another year. That is capitalism, you don't do your job, you don't get my money.
But how are you surviving Britain, because sometimes I think I just exaggerate because I'm watching too much media. Is it really that bad ?
