Hi, I’m 16 and this is my first post on Steemit, it is a poem that I wrote. I just had an epiphany while listening to R&B and began writing. This is what I came up with, hope you like it.

Moment//

Time passes

I sit here huffing and puffing

Tears calling each other for a gathering to slide down my cheeks,

Thinking back to when my eyes gleamed at the sight of you

But now I paint a smile onto my face because
that’s what people like to see

Looking in the mirror and I smile with such unfamiliarity

His incense burned my senses and that’s when the lie had begun.

It unraveled like clues to a mystery
became as clear as transparency itself.

Love never touched our lips, but grazed upon our fingertips in awe of how they danced across the canvas that draped our bones.

Lives never quite blended.

Oh but words were said,
Feelings were had.

Skins intertwined and ecstasy felt euphoric,
As our hearts skipped in unison

Now I think back and maybe we weren’t unison...

Maybe I was so empty that it was just his heartbeat echoing in what I thought was the feeling of being complete.

Maybe it was the sound of my obese heart knocking at walls that guarded his.

In time we all wilt and fall

In time...

Just that,

In time... we made a moment.

Always a moment.

Forever, just a moment.
