Hi,
I have been uploading HEVC films for years and along the way i got many complaints like its lagging, no video, blurry, foggy etc.... So i decided to make a guide to help you get a better viewing Experience. (If u don't have compatible hardware and drivers that support shaders, these methods don't work).
First You need a PC with at least Windows 7 with all drivers installed. We will be using MPC-HC for this method. Download it from here - https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
Choosing the renderer.
The renderer you choose have a big role on the picture quality. Open MPC-HC go to options->Playback->Output.
You can see many renderer under directshow video. select different ones each time and play a video to see how is the output. select the one that gives a lag-free playback.
Using Shaders for better Picture.
We are going to use shaders to improve the picture. But for shaders to work we need a renderer that support shaders. If you don't see a green tick on shaders this method wont work.
1. vibrance shader.
First we are going to improve the saturation using Vibrance shader.
go to - https://pastebin.com/Y5kk2jz0
copy the text and make a new text document and save it as vibrance.hlsl
Open MPC-HC go to menu->Play->shaders->Select Shaders->Add Shader File.
Browse and select the vibrance.hlsl file we saved. Then it will show up on the box above. Now select it and add to Pre-resize.
2. DPX
Dpx shader also make the images more brighter with vibrant colours. Try Using it with vibrance shader, if its too saturated use any one you like .
Go to - https://pastebin.com/YEQvjA1X
copy the text and make a new text document and save it as dpx.hlsl
add it it to shaders just like above.
3. Luma Sharpening
Now we are going to use luma sharpening shader to make the blurry images looks sharper.
Go to - https://pastebin.com/tiSWHrMk
copy the text and make a new text document and save it as luma.hlsl
suggest you add it to the list of Post-resize shaders , but it also works as pre-resize shader. You can even use both.
3. Other useful shaders
Lcd Angle Correction - adds brightness
16-235 to 0-255 - useful for foggy video. gives rich black output
Bt .601 to Bt .709 - Fix the colour depth
For Rich Cinematic Sound
Next we are going to tweak the audio. For that we are going to use third party apps
SRS Audio Sandbox - https://telegram.me/filesbot?start=BQADBQADPwADbRWQVAABYof1PLgO9RYE
Bongiovi DPS - https://telegram.me/filesbot?start=BQADBQADPgADbRWQVBPl1WFVVBhUFgQ
Use the one that gives you better sound output from above softwares. Make sure you choose the right audio renderer in MPC from Options->Playback->Output.
But it wont make any big difference if you have cheap headphone. some recommendations Below:
Earbuds
Willsound mk2, Hi-Fi End HE 150, Moonbuds Crescent, Toneking TP16, DIY EMX500.
Beginner Audiophiles
BLON BL-03, KZ ZSN Pro, RHA MA390, Soundmagic E10c, BQEYZ KB100, Focal Spark, Beyerdynamic Byron, JBL C100SI.
High-end Earphones
RHA MA750, Tinaudio T2, Fiio F9 pro, Noble EDC Velvet, Fiio FH1, Meze 11 neo, Sennheiser Momentum.
Headphones
Ultrasone Performance 820, Sennheiser Hd-280, Brainwavz HM5, Grado SR80e, Beyerdynamic Custom Street.
For Rich Dudes
Audeze iSine10, Audeze Mobius, V-Moda Crossfade 2, Meze 99 Classics, HIFIMAN Sundara, Sony WH-H900N.
Unleash Your Headphones' Full Potential with a USB DAC and Amplifier.
So you’ve picked out the perfect pair of headphones, but they sound a little flat and quiet coming from your computer’s crappy built-in audio. Here’s are some little gadgets that will make those headphones sound much better.
AudioQuest DragonFly, Fiio E10K, Xduoo xd-05, Fiio A3, Fiio - Btr1k.
Thats it, now enjoy The new viewing Experience. Now play some video and feel the difference.
