Here in the US it's Independence Day and in recognition of this day I'm thinking we will mess with the rules a little this week and give you way more freedom. You will see the changes below, please make sure to read the rules this week.

Sorry for being 1 day late this week. Due to steemit's issues last night I couldn't post and my day was from 8:30am till 11:15pm today for work so here we are. The winners for week 13 will be announced tomorrow.

Week 14 Rules (One Week Rule Change)

This week you may feature anyone you wish regardless of their reputation score.

For week 14 you will need a curation style entry that includes 2 High Quality Original Content Blog Posts from any level reputation score steemians.

  • Curation Style Post of 2 Bloggers who are posting Quality Original Content
  • Link to 1 recent blog post per featured blogger. Keep in mind that many will follow this link and upvote so pick a post that isn't close to payout!
  • Include a link to this contest in your entry post
  • The 2 bloggers you curate my be ANY RANK (this week only)
  • You need to comment on this post with a link to your post, this is how I track everything!

👉👉Clarification for Quality Required for valid Entry👈👈
We are looking for Quality Original Content. We want to see no less then 200 words of original written content. So a single photo is fine as long as there is 200 words with it.

200 words is about 12 lines of content.

Posts from Parley and dmania are not acceptable.

Already seeing some great featured blog posts!

Would like to ask that people resteem this post and lets get it some added exposure this week. If you know someone you think would enjoy featuring others invite them to join in the fun this week. With the reputation score rule lifted for this week I think that many who did this in the past can easily come up with 2 people to featured.

Good morning @thedarkhorse! Beautiful day (here at least) in America. Happy Independence Day!

Following up on your original comment to me (did not “know” of you prior to that), I have now read @headchange’s post. Pressed for time, looked through your profile and made two observations:

  1. Your “started in” on August 2017. As did I, with one very notable exception. I started as an investor only. You appear to have been engaged from day one. Well done!

  2. You spend a considerable amount of time to create the content you post, judging by the graphics etc. As a result, so far, while I have encountered other “support groups" (and they all are doing valuable, “heartfelt” work) in our Steem Community, yours stands out to me as the best. I specifically like the format you have put together, whereby those submitting posts for future consideration, must first build a post of their own … And they are nominating someone else, rather than themselves … Great concept!!

As mentioned to @headchange, they say,

“... imitation is the sincerest form of flattery ...”

Source

So … As time permits (my number one challenge, hands down …), I will endeavor to put together my own post in your format and submit it to you and @pifc, for future consideration of the “Pay It Forward” team!

One quick question, as your time permits. In your experience, given what I have mentioned above about all the “support groups” here in our Steem Community, how would suggest we go about deciding where to “draw the line?” There are too many (I am already on “overload” …) to support them all.

Aside from the “easy button” answers: 1) ”Pick mine!” and 2) ”…whatever seems best to you …,” I thought I would ask, as I suspect you have a well-considered answer.

Upvoted. Resteemed. And now following you and @pifc! 😊 👍

Now … Back to the post I was working on finishing up, when Partiko indicated I had received an upvote and a comment from you … Keep up the great work!

Sorry for the delay in reply, been one of those week for me. We ran a massive estate sale this week at a very high end home. That is one of my businesses...and one that can eat up a lot of time on me.

As for your question about "support groups", I would say that you need to find a couple that have people to work with that you enjoy spending time with and go from there. You need to be able to take care of yourself first and foremost so giving everything away in terms of votes and time just doesn't allow for your own growth.

With the PIF contest you are engaging new people, but at the same time there is a great group of people who visit each other's entries and help boost them. Over time we will all benefit from this community approach to growth. Each time one of us powers up our account we are all benefiting.

Hope to find time to make a couple entries over the coming weeks and see if you like what we are doing here.

Not a problem @thedarkhorse, I'm sure you're very busy. Thanks for investing the time in this response to my question.

"You need to be able to take care of yourself first and foremost so giving everything away in terms of votes and time just doesn't allow for your own growth."

No question. And "there's the rub" amongst others ... I take the "quality, not quantity" maxim here in our Steem Community very seriously. So ... I wish I could say I just "whip it out" in a few minutes, but definitely not the case ...

What is then "left over?" Not enough time. My two fixed constants remain unchanged - "there's only (so far anyway! 😊) one of me and 24 / 7 / 365 ..." Oh, yes, and then there's my beloved lifemate inquiring, "Honey! Are you still alive in there?" ...

Well, if it's "meant to be" I'll figure it out. I can assure you I'm "working on it" ...

Have a good day @thedarkhorse. And keep up the great work!

My Wife wonders about about the time investment sometimes. But that is why you will find I do a lot of my Steemit first thing in the morning or late at night. She is sleeping and it's a good time to knock it out. To me I look at this in a long term way. If I'm correct and we are in early and more wide spread adoption happens then all time invested will be repaid many times over. If I'm wrong I'm giving up a little TV time or messing around on the internet wasting time somewhere else. In the end most of the time I stay up till 1am no matter what anyways so why not be trying to do something for the future.

Very good @thedarkhorse.

"To me I look at this in a long term way. If I'm correct and we are in early and more wide spread adoption happens then all time invested will be repaid many times over. If I'm wrong I'm giving up a little TV time or messing around on the internet wasting time somewhere else."

Definitely a long-term guy myself. While still quite "new," tried to emphasize, in my latest post, that "engagement" in our Steem Community appears to me to be a "marathon race."

At least if the focus of a person is to generate any significant income, let alone earn a "living wage" ...

So ... I agree with your perspective. Thanks for investing your time to provide it!

Here is my entry for week 14

Thank you and don't forget to try Asher's post!

Entry #10

thank you, noted

Thanks for participating. I have checked out your entries. I think everyone knows who @abh12345 is, lol. He is one of the few witnesses who I admire enough to give a vote. Great picks. :)

hahaha I think you have the magic fingers :)

Need more time to practices😂 but I learned from the best😉

Happy Independece Day @thedarkhorse, @wolfhart and other american steemians!
Here is My entry for this week ( I finally made it to use the eSteem Surfer, LOL)
Pay It Forward Curation Contest - Week 14 - Independence Day

thank you

You threw a curve 🙀 I had my entry laid all laid out in editor so nicely formatted.
Now I think I want to cut out two paragraphs. If I understand this is a rare opportunity to send a bit of extra love to anyone?
I absolutely love that!
Edited to add my entry
https://steemit.com/payitforward/@headchange/pay-it-forward-week-14-entry

hahahahaha...you're so funny. that two paragraphs means 2 Bloggers.. You have to re-arrange your post all over :D.

lol no I don't just the top 2 paragraphs

Entry #1

Sorry to mess you up...I almost didn't do the change because I was worried some might get upset. But then figured people could just use the people they already found if they had done the work in advance. Thanks for working with the changes!

Exactly anyone was free to still use their picks. I did one of mine because I thought he is super good. This was perfect timing. I had been looking for some way to help some of those who help us all. Thanks for thinking of it

You have been invited to #ccc and if you had joined, I would have upvoted with more SP.

All the best!

That is fine. After having a look I found your group requires a commitment to voting that I am unable to honor at this time. I already have prior commitment to other groups and projects. I currently stretch my votes to the limit each day to keep up with all that I am already involved in.
It seems like a great project I wish you all the best for continued success.

the "commitment" is only 10 upvotes of 12 SP for the "qualified post". Most participants do not meet their commitment and it is a goal which I hope to achieve over the long term. So, for you, if you get the slider from busy.org, you only need to upvote at 30 % times 10.

However, most days, there is less than 10 qualified posts using the #ccc tag, so, you really don't have much to lose but much to gain - you have my personal assurance.

My offer is only available to a limited number of participants and most are newbies (under 45 rep) - but I am known to make exceptions.

Please read - this is an updated (2.0) version:

Welcome back to #ccc Guaranteed 👍 Daily Income 💵 and Payout 💸 for Newbies (2.0) 🐟 🐜 🐛 in #ccc 👣 and Follow 👣 the Honor Code 🏅 - the Creed (Conditions and Limits Inside)

Please click on #ccc and look for other posts for pay it forward to see how it works and perhaps use #ccc for future entries to #pifc.

All the best!

Thank you so much for the clarification on that. You know from past experience how jumbled I can get with the guidelines. I was thinking 12 full powered votes a day would wipe me out.
You have been very kind to me in the past. Naturally I will do anything I can.
I will come over for further discussion on your post so as not to clog up the comments here.

Everyone who submitted entries this week has received a random @steemmonster as a Thank You for being awesome and supporting the Pay It Forward Project!!!

This week Payitforward is open to all levels. It should be interesting in the choices that are made. I am looking forward to reviewing all of them.

Rollin', rollin', rollin'... Things just keep going for this contest. I'm so proud to be a part of it. Thanks @thedarkhorse and the whole team for making this happen.

Confirmed, I will support 1 SBI share for this week as well as week 15

Thank you so much, @el-nailul.

This comment was made from https://ulogs.org

you are most welcome @angelacs..:)

Holy cow you guys are getting busy already!!! Let's see how motivated we can get!! My only request...Please let's stick to the 200 words rule. Even though 'prices' are down, Quality speaks volumes!! Now is not the time to drop the ball it's time to get down and dirty.

Happy July 4th buddy! Nice rule change :) I'm looking forward to see what everyone comes up with!

Thank you to all of the sponsors!!

Entry #12

Here is my submission for week 14. I decided to participate with a post as well as my upvotes this week since you relaxed the rules on rep. I hope you find them as enjoyable to read as I do. I have followed both most of my time here at Steemit and open every post of theirs that shows up in my feed.

https://steemit.com/payitforward/@practicalthought/week-14-pay-it-forward-curation-contest

Entry #8

And I have been enjoying the entries this week. Not sure I'll do unlimited rep score, but am thinking of using 55.

Hi @thedarkhorse,

I did the following post as a 'warm up' to entering next week, so I curated peeps over 50, knowing I wasn't going to submit it. But I kept getting to check this week's PIFC anyway just to get a feel for entries to help me prepare for next week.

But I forgot. Thanks to visiting @PaulaG's Redfish League's post just now and noticing your comment, I remembered and popped over to find that this week's rules allow over 50'ers.

This had quite a bit of a #ulog write-up prior to the entries, so if it doesn't quality, no problem. I'll understand and write up a more normal curation post for next week. Just in case it's ok, here's my 'not-intended' entry. ;)

https://steemit.com/ulog/@angelacs/exploring-steemit-s-valuable-treasure-5-father-and-son-meat-suit-feeling-low-ulog-14

PS Forgot... it has three instead of two entries.

Haven't forgotten about you, but running late for work today. Will look tonight.

Thanks, @thedarkhorse. I appreciate.

Entry #11

Thanks again for letting us know about our nomination and this wonderful contest. We put together a post featuring two quality steemians we enjoy and we hope others make their way over to their blogs and show them some support! Cheers, Aimee

Entry #14

After so many participations on a roll, I find myself without any new candidates now.

At the moment, there are two artists I'd like to feature, but they don't meet the "200 word" requirement on their posts.

Since the rule changed, I've easily found two candidates:
Here's My entry to the "Pay It Forward Curation Contest - Week 14"

Based on the artist's post, that is if there is a lot of photos of their work the word count can be lower for sure. It's the 1 photo posts for say a photo contest that just don't qualify as "quality". There have been some drawing posts for example that have few words, but 12 steps of their drawing that I'm more then happy to see come in.

Hope that helps clarify a little.

Yes, it does. Thanks.

I hadn't noticed the rule change for this week, I've just posted my entry. I'll edit my comment above to include it.

Entry #9

Doof! I just realised that I featured @scrawly recently! I have an extra blogger that I will add after breakfast.

FIXED: I have updated my entry

You got a 27.55% upvote from @ocdb courtesy of @thedarkhorse!

@thedarkhorse has set 3.000 SBD bounty on this post! logo_for-light-bg_1000.png
What is a bounty exactly?

A bounty is money sent to a post to be distributed to the users commenting on it. It provides a way to reward users directly and works in addition to the steem/sbd they receive from the blockchain. It works independently of SteemPower.

You create a bounty by sending any amount of sbd/steem to @steem-bounty together with a post-url in the memo.

How can I earn a bounty Users are then competing for the bounty by writing their answers to the post in comments that will achieve upvotes from the community and especially the bounty creator. The money of the bounty gets distributed to all top level comments of the post at the same time when the post is paid out (7 Days after it was written). How much everyone gets depends on the votes the comments received. The sender of the bounties votes are weighted higher so that she decideds where 80% of the bounty money goes and all other votes determine the rest.

@steem-bounty does all of this for you automatically. You can use this service to automatically pay out a challenge, ask a hard question or simply to reward the people that interact with you.

Read more about how it works, even in different languages here.

Congratulations to the following winner(s) of the bounty!

Happy Independance day and you gave fredom for our choice to select the bloggers. Nice coincidence.

Hope I can post my entry in time.

Not sure I should tell you this, but I'm giving until Sunday night, 24 extra hours on the back end this week as we started 24 hours late. But no need to push it...lol.

Happy independence day
So the rule is just post any good content no specific topic

The rules are to make a curation style post and feature any 2 quality blog posts from any steemian you want. Here is an example of an entry that won a Judges Choice award a couple weeks ago to understand what the curation post should look like.

Ok thanks

Dear @thedarkhorse, the Creator of Pay It Forward Contest

On behalf of @el-nailul who unable to be online for sometime but will be online soon, he said that he's going to support this contest until the week 15 too, and he will send the sponsorship share to the winner soon after he is online.

Thank you.
Best Regards from Panton Labu, Aceh, Indonesia

Please don't vote this comment, because I will add another comment to submit My Entry

Thank you for passing this along. Love the support.

I had part of my post queued up and then you throw a huge monkey wrench in the middle!!! I'm glad I was thinking of posting tomorrow - I'm going to need the extra day now! lol - you're great - I'm just having a laugh now.

You can still post those you had chosen, nothing says you can't pick all brand new people. But this is everyone's opportunity to feature some undervalued higher SP people. Am seriously considering making the limit a little higher, say maybe 53 or 55 to bring in extra talent into the pool of featured posts. Hasn't been decided, but based on what we see this week it might help that decision.

That's cool. I really want to take the opportunity to grab a couple of higher rep, but still undervalued bloggers. The others, I'll recommend elsewhere, so they'll still get some extra love. That's what I've been doing when I find posts I like that don't qualify for PIF.

Cool contest.. I better get to work :)

Spread the word!!! Let's if we can get a few more in before it close down tomorrow night.
