Personal Boundaries
We must take action in order to survive and thrive, but we must also use our individual freedom in a responsible way by not aggressing upon others.
In order to survive and thrive, we are required to interact with others and often encounter areas which separate us.
Healthy personal boundaries help us to do this in a respectful way by asserting our actions without crossing over into another’s boundary through aggression.
Property Rights
The basic truth of self-ownership states that we are the owners of our bodies as well as our efforts and labors.
We can also not make a claim on another’s body, effort, or labor.
But, even when we assert our ownership in a non-aggressive way, we still run the risk of conflict as we interact in the world outside of our boundaries through necessity. These conflicts are a necessary part of life, and offer the opportunity to collectively solve problems in peaceful manner.
This is where Property Rights come into play.
Property Rights are the rules which help us determine each of our individual claims of ownership when it comes to our efforts, labors, productive output, and the access to raw materials.
These rules allow us to negotiate peacefully when interacting with others in a fair and balanced way.
Property Rights do not necessarily require that we be in physical control of certain items, but there is still an agreement and understanding of the labor and effort that went into the production.
Production often times requires a collaborative human effort. Giving credit to each person's individual labor ensures fairness and peace.
Negotiating
There's more to this for later, but a big part of interacting with our fellow human is how we contract with them. There's value to our efforts and how we share that value and trade for it is critical. Of utmost importance is consent. The great folk singer Utah Phillips shared "If I cannot dictate the conditions of my labor I will henceforth cease to work." Through our interactions and contracting consent to agreements serves a critical role.
Agreed. It's why I do not support Mob Justice on Steemit. It's not the answer and attracts the wrong crowd. It's nothing more than FUD spreading to scare away minnows and make the platform seemed like its doomed, like pessimism porn and calls to riot all in one.
I like the statement "Production often times requires a collaborative human effort. Giving credit to each person's individual labor ensures fairness and peace." If only we abide by this principle, there would be much better relationships in the world.
I collaborate with many people and although I have a higher position of some of them, I try to apply this principle. From personal experience I can tell that this contribute to my authentic happiness.
Thanks for such an inspiring writing - I'll have to check other posts of yours on this subject.
You put it into perfect words!
It’s craxy to me so many still don’t get this! The government violence must end!
This is seriously a great brief of the idea of the non aggression principles👍
I will spread this beyond Steemit👍
Of course, it's the state that unlawfully claims property on behalf of its citizens, the voters and those who were elected.
It is deferred robbery, citizens claim ownership of property through state power.
Let us never forget, it's people. People hiding behind government institutions and voting (mob rule) instead of adhering to the rule of law that is guided by moral principles based on Christian (Godly) codes of conduct.
At the end of the day, always ask: How do I create value for self AND others without doing harm to yet others.
This subject is so important to spread and inform people about. We are so ignorant about the tools we have available to take actionable defense of our freedom. We are sleep walking into a mad-max reality, it does not have to happen. Thank you for your hard work, please keep on keepin' on.
Who ruuuunnnns Barter Town?
Who ruuuunnnns Barter Town? What is its meaning.. I am not understanding..
The most nice wording are those in which you explain that we are owner of ourselves our efforts etc.. So we should not agressive and ee should not cross other boundries.. I did not think in this perspective.. Its good tool to control anger.. Thanx for sharing
The statements might appear self-evident, but each can be challenged.
What's consent for instance? People today do things that 2 decades ago they would only do if forced. Why? Because they've been brainwashed. Like Noam Chomsky said (and it's one of my favorite sayings), "consent is manufactured". To really consent, a person must be superbly informed and educated, in a "know thyself" manner as taught by the ancient Greeks. Otherwise it's like signing a contract you don't really understand because someone duped you. Real consent is really hard work and it takes a lifetime or more to achieve. What most people call consent is the right to be influenced by whatever random circumstance you happen to be around, country culture current mores parents friends TV etc.
Same goes for all other points, like "property" for instance. What is property? Most, if not all, US property is stolen from the Indians.
Not saying you're wrong, it's just one can always delve deeper into all these notions. Important thing is to have everyone's best interests and the progress of humanity at heart so that we won't just serve our own biases when we reason about these issues.
Non-aggression for life!
nice write up there @aggroed. humans re psychodynamic in nature we tend to bring about things that happen to us. Study shows that humans gets mad at a particular minute in a day. we has humans must know how to relate with others by not passing aggresion to others . we must have this principle of maintaning a good relationship with others.
This is my take on your wonderful post aggroed its educative and enligjtening.
Amazing sir
wow good information.excellent post. This is where Property Rights come into play
This was quite abstract... I tried to think about self ownership, but sometimes there are cases when people can not (should not be allowed to) take decisions for themselves. As in the case of childern for example :)
wow nice post
It is about making you think from a different perspective..
It is about writing without any expectations of UPVOTES..

Nice write up, you know the most difficult thing to deal in life is human. Your write was really educating
Production often times requires a collaborative human effort. Giving credit to each person's individual labor ensures fairness and peace.
This actually applies to every aspect of our lives, no man is a forest and in as much as we need to respect each other's rights and know each other's personal boundaries, we need each other to survive.
Wow Property rights is an interesting subject! Wait @aggroed...... Am asking your view if you believe in Intellectual property rights? Me I find it important though.
As always we must resolve conflicts peacefully and in an assertive manner. We should stay calm, listen actively and avoid blaming the other person. Property Rights will absolutely help us in resolving conflicts peacefully.
Thank you @aggroed for sharing this! :)♥
There are almost 16 types of human behavior exist in the entire world according to MBTI Theory. It is really necessary for People to understand the habits and nature of fellow human being to build a very Positive Relationship within Society.
Thanks for bringing up this great Piece of Work under your discussion
Great Job Done @aggroed

Always happy to see the non-aggression principle being discussed. It's a beautiful thing, but it's still difficult to deprogram ourselves if we weren't raised that way. As I was reading your post, my children began arguing over a toy. The property rights issue gets really complicated with children as they are intrinsically gifted with powerful arguing skills. So many factors at play when we're trying to teach sharing, but not forced sharing.
You make me remember that expression that says more or less like this: "Our rights end, where those of others begin". It is inevitable to thrive in life if you do not interact properly with the other, it is a win and win, both parts have to win. It is essential to respect to the people to receive also respect and recognition. Very good. Greetings
So well written. We are the master's of our own destiny and have sovereignty over ourselves. We should never use our energy to constrict the flow of others. I appreciate the more Stoic perspective of self responsibility for our labor and actions, as opposed to the hopeless feeling of "why is this happening to me?" I avoid those who avoid accountability. Resteeming these wise words!!!
Hey there. Okay so this is completely off topic, but super odd, lol, I had to tell you.
A friend on steemit mentioned the mandela effect today and actually it's not something I've thought about for awhile, but it made me curious enough to go to youtube and see if anything new was out on it. Well there wasn't anything brand new so I typed in two that remained glaringly in my mind- the berenstein bears first, and for some reason a much smaller example which was Mr. Roger's neighborhood. So I'm listening to the guy, with a really nice speaking voice--lol--and it wasn't until the Daniel Tiger's version was put up that I happened to look at the name of the author of the video....hahaha. I think I blinked a couple of times, and then I thought "Huh, I wonder if that means something that I wasn't aware of and it's actually really common", so I click on the author and of course I see steem related stuff, so yeah, you have a nice speaking voice, and I'm in total agreement absolutely THE.
In truth that's probably not that surprising, the AI in the web would likely bring up a video from a steemit person the same way they so accurately predict many other things I am interested in (creepy a lot of times, but there it is)
Also, I have no idea what conclusions you've ultimately made about the phenomenon, but I'm more apt to believe that it's all been done to make us question our memories, without being certain of those how can we be certain of anything after all....too bad for them I don't question my memory :) berenstein, without a doubt, have some very definite reasons why I know this to be true, lol.
This is important stuff.
In my travels I have noticed lately that as a for of surveillance and harassment law enforcement and privatesec have placed me in situations where if I am not absolutely peaceful, even to the point where I have to dodge them physically, or resist their trickery when they have drugged me with strange topical chemicals or drugs that were other than advertised, you will be baited into a situation where they have visual evidence that can be so construed to make you look like a dangerous predator.
Also, if you are not capable of maintaining the privacy of your personal electronics, they will know everything about you and use it to destabilize you, to the extent that your work bothers their work.
In other words, if you are actually resisting or building a different world, they are coming for you and you need to know these things:
