Good Day Peerplays Followers,
As of a month ago a distribution of approximately 940k of PPY became available to one of my companies. I have taken in a lot of input and consulted with many in the Peerplays community on how this can be best utilized for the future of the network. That said, it is with great pleasure that I am able to write this letter now to share the totality of this balance have now been settled.
What I have learned about the needs of Peerplays over the years along with the current trajectory we are headed towards were two of the largest influences in deciding what to do with this distribution.
To be clear, I have always supported proper corporate governance regarding PPY token management.
I have held this batch of PPY tokens in a fiduciary capacity with absolutely no personal agenda while we found a suitable strategic solution that met the best needs of the community and ecosystem.
This particular balance has been brokered to pass hands on a few occasions now where it was always working for the good of the network, although in too sizable an amount for one entity to hold in my opinion.
I have always believed that the network as a whole needs to benefit from what this lot of PPY can do strategically to help the ecosystem grow. With that, the company is going to gift transfer this property of PPY to the following:
75k - A Strategic Alliance with Peerplays
100k - Reserve for Developer Bonuses
200k - Long Term Peerplays Developing Partners
100k - Peerplays Commercial Opportunity/Partnership
115k - Peerplays Commercial Opportunity/Partnership
200k - Peerplays Commercial Opportunity/Partnership
150k - A Company in Jonathan Baha’is Control
This effectively takes what was once 17% of the total blockchain distribution in a single entity and breaks it up so that the largest of the 7 entities holds only 3.5%.
Take note that the only entity I have control over I have named. What I do with that remains to be seen as I anticipate many things changing in the near future for Peerplays and I have no interest in selling any amount of this balance. It’s voting will likely be assigned to a proxy who is active in the community.
Some of these in regards to transfers have already taken place, while others are earmarked for periods of three, six, and twelve months.
It is anticipated that through these various channels we are going to build out a stronger decentralized public blockchain ecosystem, engage in mutually beneficial partnerships, and overall carry Peerplays forward out of its formative age into its adoptive era.
I am more excited than ever for Peerplays future and all the opportunities it is giving birth to gamers, streamers, developers, affiliate marketers, advertisers, sponsors, entrepreneurs, and small to medium size operators world wide.
