Bagheera (del hindi बाघ - bagh: tigre) es el nombre de uno de los personajes de la novela "El libro de la Selva", escrita por el autor británico Rudyard Kipling.
Esta pantera al igual que el oso "Baloo", enseñan a Mowgli (el cachorro humano) a sobrevivir en la selva, aprovechando los beneficios que ésta le ofrece,. Así como también a enfrentar los peligros que podrían acechar, como del temido tigre de bengala "Shere Khan".
Todos los habitantes de la selva respetan a Bagheera porque es un animal astuto, sabio y, sobre todo, muy silencioso y discreto.

This panther, like the bear "Baloo", teach Mowgli (the human puppy) to survive in the jungle, taking advantage of the benefits it offers. As well as facing the dangers that could lurk, such as the feared Bengal tiger "Shere Khan".
All the inhabitants of the jungle respect Bagheera because he is an astute, wise animal and, above all, very silent and discreet.
