Saiful (48) painted his boat in Tibang, Banda Aceh, Thursday, October 25, 2018.

Fishermen often prefer Friday to dry paint on their boats, because every Friday, fishermen do not go to the sea.

They obey local customary law about the sea, which is determined by someone who was given the title Pang Laöt. Pang Laöt is the Commander of the Sea, which regulates procedures for catching marine fish, including the time to go to the sea and manage traditional ceremonies for fishermen.
