RE: Pepe Battle Frog Game- An Income Opportunity and Questions

in #pepe2 months ago

Hello there! Thanks for writing this post and thanks for playing PEPE Game. I really do appreciate you, and all our players!

So VOLTs are pegged at 1/1000 of an HBD so no need for a hive-engine token for that. GOV will be traded according to supply and demand at a variable price the market sets. There will be an AMM liquidity pool of VOLT:GOV and again since VOLT is a derivative of a stablecoin (HBD) that pool will be similar to https://tribaldex.com/swap?from=SWAP.USDT&to=SWAP.HIVE for example where once side is stable at around a dollar.

Before going further, let me mention two general points.

First, PEPE Game is a Game. The focus is on having fun in the moment. The cards and tokens are not decentralized on a blockchain, they are centralized in one database that one person has access to. The purpose of the game is to bring attention to the PEPE community here on Hive and will continue as long as I have Fun developing the game and the players have Fun playing the game. There is a @pepegamedao which can independently manage the game in the future and take it in whatever direction decision makers with GOV decide to take it based on GOV weighted voting. But we don't have that now. Enjoy the game in the moment. Even blockchain tokens give you no guarantees and this isn't even that, so understand what it IS and what it is Not.

Second, this game is meant to be Simple. If someone wants something more complex, we have that at Splinterlands. We're occupying a similar space but at the lower end of complexity. I have no plans to do in many directions. I'm building something out which should be simple to learn and fun to play without too much thinking or time spent. I'm building it for my own Fun. I've been "paid" less than 10 HBD so far, as you can see at @pepegamex so you can see I'm not in this for financial gain. I just want to enjoy building it and hope to make it fun enough so others might enjoy playing it.

On Beta packs. So I'm not sure what they would do for us. Remembering that we want to keep this simple and fun, we risk going into Splinterlands territory if we do all these different pack sets. In Splinterlands, it seems to me, and maybe just me, that all this is hype to sell more packs and make more money. That's fine for people who want new challenges and new game rule sets and new abilities and counter-abilities. But again, Splinterlands fills this space just fine so not sure we'll be doing all that.

We do have GEMS. They have always been part of the game design and they are working well at MetaRobots. Many may not know, but each card can equip 1 to 4 Gems. Common has 1 Gem slot. Rare 2, Epic 3, Lego has 4! The initial GEMS on MetaRobots are boosters of the 4 existing stats - health, armor, speed and attack, and they come in common, rare, epic and legendary versions. They are permanent. On PEPE Game I think we're going with one shot Gems. Use them once and they are burnt. There are plans on how you can get Gems, how you can level up Gems like you do with cards, how to buy/sell Gems in a market like the card market. But also, the things Splinterlands does with new pack sets can be done here with Gems. We can introduce new abilities with Gems. So we can add surprising new ways to play, without having
to ask players to buy all new card packs which overshadow the utility of your older cards. You'll just shape your existing cards' strengths with Gems to meet the needs of the battle you currently want to play.

PVP? Yes! But again, not the same as in Splinterlands. They have that well covered. Ours will be more of an agreement between two players of what will be put into the pot by each player, with winner taking all (maybe a small fee paid to the system). Kind of like, you walk into the local pool hall, and someone asks you if you want to play for money and you decide what to wager.

Quests. We have them at MetaRobots, along with crafting and showing off your items in your house and skins and other equipable items and other things that are kind of off the dev path I'm think of for PEPE Game which is going to be just centered on the card game. So I have no current plans for quests here.

I want to say that these are my thoughts for today Dec 2 2024. I'm not inflexible. I love to listen to what others are thinking! I've changed my mind before, once new information comes in. But just remember the premise - PEPE Game is currently a completely centralized web game on a website which is in one person's hands. It is meant for fun in the moment, and meant to be simple to learn and play.

Thanks again for the post and the questions!

Agree with this, kind of like pick up games where both players agree to pay the "pot" to win.

Maybe encourage players of your game to do player-versus-player (PvP) battles by offering a free PvP battle once every few hours too (like how there are free demo battles and adventure battles) on your game. 🤔😏 !PIZZA !DIY

Maybe. Think players will pay a fee and play for it though as an offer and accepting of battle challenge with a prize for the winner. !BBH !DIY !DOOK

If you put a fee for the game (such as 5%) from the total prize from a PVP battle, then players who play PvP without a fee can play against each other without paying anything (though without any prize). 🤔🤓😏 !WEIRD !INDEED !DIY
