RE: Performance and Scalability Updates

in #performance7 years ago (edited)

We are currently syncing a steem blockchain to launch our full node, we got a reasonably cheap offer with 24GB RAM for 30Eur/month so will try it. We have been trying the one you have launched, then some other ones, and now we are sitting on seed.liondani.com:2016
It works most of the time, but then at some point it bottlenecks and queries to db are extremely slow.

You're mixing up full rpc and seed nodes.

A full node with 24GB RAM won't be fast either. They need ~140GB of memory right now, depending on the speed of your hard drives you can use /dev/shm partly, but if you don't have good nvme disks the majority of it should be in RAM.

The full rpc node I run is reachable at steemd.pevo.science

Cool mate i will share this with my guys who actually are doing the hard work. Thank you for your time explaining and redirecting in a right direction. Appreciate.

Is this why RAM has doubled in price lately? :p

This down to 'Twitch curation' I hear :p
