Yes, this was something close to what I imagined, except my imagination is more conceptual than technical. Thank you so much for this update! It may not quell immediately all of the frustrations, but is a good step in the right direction.
Having some regular PR updates might be simpler than you imagine as there are probably a few steemians you could trust with sensitive information that also have the time for full looking posts such as this one, and they might be willing to do the legwork on regular updates without changing your payroll. Just a thought I had.
