RE: Cold Climate Permaculture Plants: Sea Buckthorn

That sounds tasty! I have eaten a fair number of Sea Buckthorn berries raw but never thought to combine them with other berries.

16 plants should be a pretty good crop. Do you know how many are female yet or just rolling the dice? ;)

Sort:

Germination is up to 25 now...totally rolling the dice :) If I have to I can adjust how many I have of each down the road, that'll be okay. I'm enjoying the experience of starting everything from seed. Though I will be getting some Siberian crab root stock so I can graft to them next year.

Yeah starting from seed is pretty fun! You wouldn't happen to know a good source for Ranetka root stock or seed in Canada would you?

Only out of the States that I've seen, but ask Green Barn Farm out East...they are so helpful and work with so many cold hardy varieties.
