I'll be one of those permies once I quit my job in July, so hopefully see you around. Thanks for the heads up on the coins, something for me to explore!

So glad to hear you're making the leap! You doing your PDC? I found it to be extremely helpful if you haven't done it. Where are you based?
In SE UK - I don't think I need to the PDC - I did the intro and figure I can learn what I need to from volunteeering/ visiting.
Going to relocate West in a couple of months, IF my flat sale goes through.
I did a lot of this for a while and after a few years I took the PDC. It was a great way round to do it because it helped me understand a lot of the practical real-world stuff. The PDC is a lot of theory and really helps you understand the next step but it also brings you together with some great minds. It's worth doing, but get a little practice under your belt too. Reading Toby Hemenway's Gaia's Garden is a great condensed and more applciable verison of The Designer's Manual too, which the PDC is based on :)
I might yet do a PDC... thanks for the advice with the reading material.
I just saw that you're based in Medway! I'm actually from Dartford! Small world :) The London Permaculture Guild often has some great free stuff going on that you can get involved in, especially Permablitzes and I took a course for free with them about how to interview and work with clients, which was INVALUABLE!
Yes - small world. I got the impression you were in the US for some reason!
Nope just a Kentish Woman kicking it everywhere else but Kent :P
