((Of a thought) to occur suddenly to someone.)

Watching the movie, it crossed my mind that it was a remake of an older movie I had seen years earlier.

در حال تماشای فیلم، به فکرم رسید که این فیلم بازسازی فیلم قدیمی‌تری است که سال‌ها قبل دیده بودم.

مثال دیگر:

In the wave of relief that came with finally getting his wallet back, it hadn’t crossed his mind to ask about the thief who had stolen it.

در میان موج آسودگی که از پس گررفتن کیف پولش به او دست داده بود، به ذهنش نرسیده بود که درباره‌ی دزدی که آن را دزدیده بود، سؤال کند.

Yeah thanks, you should try to make sentence too. It's great learning idioms and you can only understand more by using it to make sentences.
