Grateful

How many of us have the money to go to the grocery store and buy our daily needs for food and other stuff? Yet I see people, including myself, who are not grateful. Can gratefulness make us happier? How can it help us with psychological life? I think this is a very important subject. Start reading and improve the way you think.

Being grateful?

Most of us live in a good neighborhood, where we can go to school and meet new friends. We can eat food and we don’t have to beg for money in order to survive. Should we not be grateful? Well, let’s start off with what being grateful exactly is. Being grateful is that you are happy and you are thankful that you can buy what you bought yesterday or today or that you are happy with the things you have in possession right now.

We have become so greedy and we only want more, but it seems like we forgot how to be grateful.I think we have lost such a big part of being human. Being human means that you need to be grateful. When we get our extra bonus of 5%, we are not happy. Instead, we become angry. Why is that? I will tell you. It is because we are not grateful anymore.

We want more, more and more. We don’t take the time anymore to look at our lives and think about how much we have got already. Is it because of our arrogance? Is it because we think we deserve more? I will tell you the answers to these questions too. It is because we have both. Is it not time to take more time, spending on thinking about how much we have and be thankful for this? Why should we be so greedy?

Being ungrateful will make you sad and it will lead to a depression. I had a time where I was only thinking about money. All I thought about was, “How do I make more money”. Eventually, it did not make me happy at all. Now I have my summer holidays and I work less. I did this on purpose. I did this so I could take more time thinking about things. Think about how fast life is going and taking my time to be grateful. Even when I write this article it feels different. I really write it from the heart. I am grateful that I can write an article and publish it to the whole world.

Look around you

One of the things that I have learned is to never stop looking around you. Can you hear all the birds singing? Can you see people around you who don’t even have a penny? Don’t you see the people who are struggling for one piece of bread? Not only look at people but also look at nature. Look at the beauty of it and feel it. Man be grateful.

There are so many reasons that you can be grateful for. Find one. Find a reason to be grateful. Instead of thinking about your stressful life, start looking at things and find peace. Don’t think of problems, think in solutions. This should even be a reason to be grateful. You can solve your own problems. There are a lot of people who can’t even solve their own problems.

There is so much that you can learn just by watching. One of the best things is that you start being grateful.

Count your blessings

People, including myself, tend to count their problems more than they count their blessings. It is just how we can be. We think that the world is against us and that nothing can get any worse. Well, little secret. It can get worse. There are so many people struggling right now. The funny thing is that we can’t see them, but we know it. We are not aware of it when something bad happens to us. When you read this, you know I am right. There is always somebody who is in a worse situation than you are. Never forget that.

Instead of thinking about how bad your day was, think about the things that went well that day.Make a list for yourself to not make the same mistake that you made today. Or instead of thinking about how bad something was, think about what went wrong and try to better that for the next time. As I said before, this is also a blessing. You can solve your own problem.

If you have a home you can return to after a day of work, you need to be grateful and see this as a blessing. Everybody has hard times at work, at school or even at home. You, me or anybody is no exception. Never forget to count the blessings you have. Be grateful for your health. Find ways to become grateful. This will make you less stressed and it makes you much happier than being ungrateful all the time.

Why do you think that so many people are just unhappy with their lives? It is because they do not take any time to think about their blessings. This will make you think that you deserve more than you have. The worst thing is that it will make you a greedy person. That is not what you want. There is always something in life that goes well. Think about that.

Bury the past

Letting go of the past is sometimes the most difficult thing to do. It can be because you have been through super hard times or something so bad happened that you can’t just forget it. I had the same problem. So I have been through a couple of things. Also, I have done things which I am not very proud of, but can I change it now? The time is over so why should I spend time thinking about the past the whole time and feel sad about it?

Let your past be the motivation you need to keep improving yourself. Bury the past and look forward. Be grateful that you can take this step. Be grateful about the fact that you made it through these nasty times. Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Think

We are busy creatures. We work a lot. Some of us have a hobby after work. We don’t have much time to think. Thinking awakens your emotions. Think about your day. Really take your time. Instead of sleeping the whole day on Saturdays, wake up early and make yourself a nice cup of coffee or tea and start looking outside and think about your whole week.

What are the things you can be grateful for? Have you got the new bonus you wanted? Are you healthy? What do you want to achieve within the next 2 or 3 years? Ask yourself these questions and make time to answer these. At the end of this session, you will be thankful. People don’t think about what went right, we like to think about the things that went wrong and make ourselves believe that we are super losers. You know what happens? Stress will start to take over your body.

Think about your life, think about the blessings you have and think about how far you came. Think about how much you have grown, what you did wrong and what you can do better the next time. Be grateful.

Let’s have a quick recap. Most of us, can buy the food we need daily and we have a home where we can rest. Yet we are not grateful for our situation. We complain more than we are grateful. Because of this, we become unhappy and greedy. Take some time to look around you. How many people would have loved to have the life you have right now? You can pay your bills and you can buy food.
