Too Much Awesomeness That I Can Barely Handle

in #personal8 years ago (edited)

That is a verification photo since I am a newbie.

You can check my Facebook or Instagram profile, whichever you prefer. Do not let that baby face deceives you, I am 28 years old.

As you see from the date above in the picture, I was planning to write a blog post on that day, but it happened that I lost myself reading around Steeemit and for a moment I felt a bit intimidated. Okay, I felt totally, completely intimidated.

There is so much awesomeness around.

For a moment I thought "Dang, what the heck I am doing here? I got nothing to offer for this community. What I am doing with my life?".

So for the last 2 days, I have been thinking so hard about what I can write, what value I can add to this site, how can I be cool and write stuff so people can like me, which target audience should I select for my blog posts etc etc.

And then it hit me. I am not here to compete with anybody, I am not here to do business. My absolute goals are to have fun, enjoy reading and expand my knowledge for a variety of topics. And if I decide to write a post, it will be for expressing my opinion about the things that I have passion about. And if someone upvote me, I really hope it's not just with the intention to increase my wallet digits. I don't care about the dollars, really. I do enough freelance work to pay my bills and food and help somehow my family and people that I love. Occasionally, I donate for causes that I really care about.

Steemit is a social media platform and it should be treated as such. There will be bullies, there will people that just want to drag you down because your post became viral overnight and there will be positivity that overcome all the negativity that is in here. Yes, I felt insecure but I choose to confront my fears and write this post instead. I will probably just post a meme or a .gif ( they can be funny, no?) because I like laughing and I would like to share, who knows it will someone's day. I will probably share a song that leaves me with goosebumps and I want people to know about it. I will express my frustration about my country's government and much more. And I will upvote makeup tutorials. What's so wrong about that?

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken. - Unknown

Write about things that are true to you and that's exactly what I intend to do. And if I don't have anything to write, it's cool. Steemit is still awesome and for the first time ever, there is a social media platform where time is valued and not wasted.

Sincerely
Thebluepanda

P.S: I will have to apologize ahead for any grammar mistake. English is not my native language. Another reason why Steemit is cool. It's motivating me to improve my writing skills.

You should add the "introduceyourself" tag to get more visibility :)

Actually, that's my 2nd post. should i use the tag 2 times?

I thought the same thing, what can I possibly offer this community that can progress it or make it grow. I learned a lot after reading some posts and I am glad I jumped on this opportunity.

To be honest, I got really stressed. And writing this post helped me to get it out of the system. Existenstial crisis, perhaps? hahaha
I decided it's better to confront my fears and doubts and yes, lets dive in a different world where everybody is contributing somehow, small or big, it doesnt matter.

Greetings! Where are you from?

that's my 2nd post. I am from Albania :)

Welcome to Steemit land! Let us know if you have any questions!

Thank you so much. Are selfies allowed to be posted in Steemit? lol

they are allowed!

I was joking :)

On a serious note, what the heck is permlink.size() > STEEMIT_MIN_PERMLINK_LENGTH and why nobody gave a real solution.

I'm not sure about that one sorry. Can anyone else chime in?

It happens when you try to post and the system doesn't let you publish. You receive this :
permlink.size() > STEEMIT_MIN_PERMLINK_LENGTH && permlink.size() < STEEMIT_MAX_PERMLINK_LENGTH:

Welcome! You seem really legit and authentic..So nice to know you are a part of this community.

Welcome!! Thank you for sharing!! I was intimidated at first but decided to stop thinking so hard about it and take the leap! Glad you did too!

Very nice post I had fun reading it :)
By the way, the quote: " Be yourself, everyone else is already taken" is from Oscar Wilde.
See you

hey Charles i also thought it was Oscar Wilde. but its not true :) i searched and there is no proof that Oscar said it lol

Haha :) ...Always learn something new...I nearly wrote " May be from...".
Next time I will go deeper in my searches :)
Have a nice day :)

hahahahhahahaha funny. have a nice day too :)
