After the rains in South Africa the flowers cleared of their dust, a lush new day smiles upon their gentle faces, now to face up to the heat of the day.
Gentle perfume fills the air with the freshness that follows some rain, making a garden feel more like a region of the North where roses originated from.
This carpet rose has small dainty flowers giving years of endless joy!

Nice picture. I took some of the roses in my back yard the other day that I was thinking about sharing on here. We used to have small rose of sharon bush at our old house that had flowers much like the ones you pictured.
These are quiet resilient here in South Africa, for some reason the termites don't get them as badly as all the other roses.
That is always a good thing! Pesky termites!

Ooohhhh, they are pretty! Elegant long stemmed roses are one thing, these have old-fashioned charm...
This bush originated in my Dad's garden 25 years ago, 600 kilometers inland @ackhoo it amazes me that it survives as well as it does, with fond memories of the home I grew up in.
