"And I know things can't last forever," just like the lives of our dogs. They live for a very short amount of time. Short enough to spend a lifetime with us, but long enough to become part of our lives.
Dogs are heroes in their own ways. They are not afraid to die in the name of commitment, loyalty and love. Their lives are dedicated to us, their masters. But they are not blind to the truth the real master is the One that dwells up above. We, humans, are just deputy of what they have known as the Master. Likewise, they also serve that way by bringing a positive change in our lives.
All dogs are created with a good nature. They do not intend to harm or cheat anybody. All their actions are based on the love they have for us. Gratitude drives their hearts. You will never find a dog that reflects discontent, unhappiness or reluctance. Because every person, activity and thing is a blessing to them. Their favorite thing is everything.
If the average span of human life is 70 years, dogs have 12. Twelve years is too short for their undying love. And it seems like a universe full of love, gratitude, loyalty and hope is all compressed in a span of twelve years. Imagine how strong and intense a force can become if it is condensed in a small time capsule.
Thus, seeing a dog wildly thump his tail, eagerly jumping around you as if trapping you to receive his lick, is just normal. It shows that a dog never wants to miss an opportunity to show you in every way how much he adores you. For him every day is a celebration of having you as his best friend. Owning a dog is the most heart warming event a person can ever experience, because it is not just a dog, it's a soulmate. It's a creature that inspires you to value the things that really matters in life- life itself, time with love ones, and unconditional love.
If you're a dog lover, with an average life span, your heart might break 5 times over the coarse of your life. That's given if your dogs are lucky enough to avoid accidents or early death, and if you could recover fast as soon as your previous pooch is gone. For you will always lose a dog every 12 years, and for a dog lover, it's like losing a child or a part of himself.
Losing a dog is not just losing a huge part of ourselves. Rather, it's losing the entirety of our souls. They are not just a part of a whole. They are us, for they reflect the profoundest part of human soul. It's strange that if you lose a dog, you lose an immeasurable part of you. There might be a gap in your heart and the only antidote to such emptiness, is to adopt another one. Then, losing it again would lead you to the same cycle of getting another dog. It's like transferring the love that you had from your previous pet to a new one. Realizing in the end, the tendency to develop another kind of love for a specific pooch is overriding your emotions. There's a guilt and confusion in the cycle. And the pain of losing, stays the same. No kind of replacement could heal such pain. Unless, you realize that dogs did not really leave us.They are just there, right within us, making us realize the love they marked in our hearts.Such love, vibrates inside us, making us aware of the most important lesson from dogs - "love yourself most, for I have loved you the most."
very touching. the fact that dogs leave not so lang as we do is really disappointing, but they will live in our hearts forever.
