I’ve been to a lot of places across the Philippines. Needless to say, like most travelers, I feel like I take the best photos, and my favorite subjects are waters and landscapes.
Here, let me show you a few of my favorite photos from places I’ve been to. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy a show of blues and greens.
Guimaras Island
I went to Iloilo and Guimaras for my first solo travel (which I will be writing about soon, hopefully). Guimaras is an island province in Western Visayas, famous for its sweet mangoes. I’ve long heard that Guimaras is a very beautiful place, but little did I know that I will be awestruck at how attractive the island is.
Anawangin Cove, Zambales
Located in San Antonio, Zambales, they say that the beach sands were formed by the volcanic ash dumped by Mt. Pinatubo when it erupted in the 1990s. Our trip to Anawangin was my first real camping experience. We slept in small tents put up in the midst of a forest of pine trees, with no electricity and no reception, that all you can do is admire the beauty of the cove, ironically created by a disaster.
Calatagan, Batangas
We went to Casa Astillero, one of the many beach resorts in Calatagan, Batangas, for a family summer outing. The resort rates are quite affordable, the entrance fee is only PhP100.00 per person, and cottages do not cost more than a thousand for a whole day’s use, and you can bring your own food and drinks. The beach itself is not so friendly because of the corals that will prick your feet the moment you step on the water. But, the view is amazing, and will make you relaxed even for a day.
Coron, Palawan
Describing Coron as a beautiful place would be an understatement. I cannot think of other words to describe how breathtaking the islands of Coron are. When you go touring around Coron, island hopping will take you to different lagoons and lakes that will leave you breathless. Coron boasts of Kayangan Lake, considered as one of the cleanest lakes in Asia.
Fortune Island, Nasugbu, Batangas
Fortune Island was once a private island with an exclusive luxury resort. However, according to our guide during our tour there, since there is no supply of fresh water in the island, it became costly to maintain, thus it ceased operations years back. Now, it’s an abandoned island and open to the public.
Calaguas Island, Camarines Norte
I got to experience island camping again in Calaguas, and again, no reception and no electricity, save for a few light bulbs being lit at night. The sand is so white, the water so clear that you will be dazzled as the boat approaches the beach. The 10-hour land travel and 2-hour boat ride was so worth it.
El Nido, Palawan
One of the major tourist destinations in the Philippines, like Coron, island hopping in El Nido will bring you to lagoons and islands of magnificent beauty. El Nido is known as the Philippines’ last frontier, and boasts of clear waters, pristine beaches and snorkeling sites.
As I get to learn and practice more on writing and posting in Steemit, I would love to share with everyone all the places that I have been to in different posts with more details and more photos, if only to inspire others to travel and explore, and I can’t wait to share with you my experiences.
Photos are mine.
Amazing
