How to Get Rid of Toxic People

in #philippines7 years ago

How do we define toxic people? These are the people who are absorbing all of our energy and are pouring us with negativity. Rant, complains, gossips and sentiments. These are the people who lacks positivity be means of appreciation. These are the people who cannot see the good in anyone and any situation, these are the people who only are filled with insecurities and only knows to brag about themselves, themselves and all about themselves

Toxic people keeps on aiming for fame, for appreciation and for recognition. They only talk about what they are doing good and never talked about their lapses, these are the people who are always looking for debate, arguments and conflict. They are always looking for mismatch and will stand to prove himself though his opinion is never asked. In Filipino, “may gustong patunayan”.

How do we get rid of these kinds of people?

  • First, as a matured individual we must understand where this person is coming from

  • Second, do not stop communicating with this person. Maybe this person needs company.

  • Third, choose when to engage in a conversation. If negativity strikes, try to keep yourself busy and walk away

  • Fourth, initiate positivity. Talk about how great your morning was and what made it peaceful.

  • Fifth, if the person becomes totally ballistic, initiate a small talk and tell him honestly how his actions and words are affecting other people

  • Lastly, know when to stop and totally stay away from this person

Remember that we choose our thoughts as we go through each day, it is inevitable but never should we let anyone to consume our peace. Life is full of challenges and struggles we should keep it as balanced and as peaceful as possible.

I know what you mean by this.

I would like to challenge you on one point however - and that is that if someone looks to debate with you the are toxic.

We grow through being challenged. Debate and critique can help us move beyond the confines of what we know.

We risk keeping ourselves in a bubble that prevents us from learning, growing and evolving.

No one wants this all the time, but sometimes our harshest critics are the ones who love us most or want to see us grow and succeed.

Just a thought.....
