Innocence, a state of being free, freedom form guilt, freedom from sins, unawareness of what’s happening around, unawareness of what is right and what is wrong, somehow a lack of understanding of justice and rights. Innocence, simply mirrored by a face of a child.
It’s lovely to see a child’s smiling face, as if everything just seems so right around his simple world, but behind these smiles are these Filipino children aware of the reality? On how lack of justice and freedom is slowly consuming the community? Do these children even have a clear vision of their lives ahead as they grow old ten to twenty years from now? Are the parents of these children even thinking about it? Definitely the answer is no, because even Filipino adults nowadays are lacking the right vision of what’s awaiting for the country in the next few years to come.
As I go through this steemit journey, I get to meet different people from all sides of the world. I am getting random commentaries about the Philippine government, how dangerous the country is and they are bringing up the issue of extra judicial killings, crime rate, so on and so forth. It pains me to take these kinds of criticisms and to positively position an appropriate unbiased response. Still I am a Filipino citizen and it is my responsibility to stand for my country no matter how other races look at it, second, I never get to personally experience any kind of cruelty from the government so I do not have the right to comment about anything against the administration. I see families grieving because of this yet no one really knows the “true story” behind so I am not really to leave a word about it, all I witness are the cruelty of criminals to innocent people, the lack of humanity, the lack of compassion - the evil side of the nation. So far, I feel far more secured because crime has lessened. Yes it was less compared to previous administrations. But still I only have a view of what’s being stated through media, no one among us know what is happening behind the camera.
Just like the Filipino youth, Filipino adults are also on the same stage of innocence, no one really knows what’s happening behind, what the motives are or even what the president is planning for the country in the near future. What’s important is, as Filipinos, we understand freedom and we know when to set the limits, when to react and when to stand for our safety and human rights. As Filipino adults, it’s our responsibility to safe guard the rights and humanity of the Filipino children filled with innocence. We always want to see a smiling face, but hopefully at least, nit just a smiling face of innocence but a smiling face of freedom and peace.

thank you
Sometimes, it is really relaxing to just observe things around you. The kids' innocence brings great happiness in my heart. They just play, with smiles in their lips. They do not know the bigger world they are living in. =)
thank you
the youth is the next generation's hope and future

Kids are so naive and sensitive. Carefree they must be seen. Nice article kababayan. Kailangan natin ito.
