Lesson 02 tutorial of Hiligaynon Dialect Translated To Tagalog And English Language!!

Welcome to Hiligaynon subject and topics!

Hiligaynon dialect is a medium language of people living in Bacolod and nearby cities.
From the capital city of Negros Occidental going to east, north and south. Hiligaynon is the major mode of conversation, it has similarity with ilonggo and most hiligaynon terminology are originated/influenced by Spanish. Like tinidor, kutsara, labador, tukador, kandado and many more.

Now let me share to you our dialect and I will be giving you not at least 10 words, sentences or phrases. With corresponding translation into Tagalog and English.
This topic will let you learn our dialect and for you to be familiar with Hiligaynon terms.

So Let's Start the Lesson II

Bacolodnon is known to be as sweet lover, because how the way we speak our dialect. The tone of our voices sounds like you are asking and mostly in down bit. It's very rare to apply the escalating stair case process way of speaking. We eventually deliver or words as always as possible in soft/slow tone and with a little bit of prolonging the last word.
That's why our regional accent can be easily identify that we are ilonggos " People living in Panay and Negos "

How to appreciate ilonggo in many aspects like beauty, place and etc.

Hiligaynon - Ka gwapa bala sa imo day!
Tagalog - Ang ganda mo naman binibini!
English - You look so petty Ms.!

Hiligaynon - hala kanami bala sang inyo lugar!
Tagalog - Aba naman ang ganda nman nang lugar ninyo
English - hmmp your place is so beautiful

Hiligaynon -kanami sang mga pag-kaon di ba!
Tagalog - Ang sa sarap naman nang mga pagkain dito
English - the foods here are so very delicious!

Hiligaynon - kanami sang imo buhok ka itom!
Tagalog - ang ganda nang buhok mo ang itim!
English -you have a nice/beautiful hair it's really black!

Hiligaynon - Ka malipayon ka mga tawo di ba!
Tagalog - Ang sa saya nang mga tao dito
English - The people here look so very happy!

Hiligaynon - kanami di kay katinlo kag katawhay!
Tagalog - ang ganda naman dito ang linis at ang tahimik!
English - It's so nice here very clean and peaceful!

Hiligaynon - ka mabinuligon sang mga tawo di!
Tagalog - yung mga tao dito ay matulungin!
English - people here are so very hospitable/heelpful!

How to express your love to an ilonggo

Hiligaynon - palangga ta ka!
Tagalog - mahal kita!
English - i love you!

Hiligaynon - ginahigugma taka halin pa sang una!
Tagalog - minahal na kita mula pa nung una!
English - I really love you from the start/beginning!

Hiligaynon - pakaslan taka, pakaslan mo man ko?
Tagalog - pakakasalan kita, pakakasalan mo rin ba ako?
English - I will marry you, will you marry me too?

Hiligaynon - sigurado ko nga palangga taka yah!
Tagalog - sigurado akong mahal talaga kita!
English - I'm really sure that I love you!

Hiligaynon - palangga ta guid ka kaayo!
Tagalog -mahal na mahal talaga kita!
English - I love you very much!

Hiligaynon - pamatud-an ko sa ginikanan mu nga palangga ta gd ka!
Tagalog - patutunayan ko sa mga magulang mo na mahal talaga kita!
English - I will prove to your parent that I love you very much!

Hiligaynon expressions if you are in love

hiligaynon - nahuya ko magpalapit sa iya!
Tagalog - nahihiya akong lumapit sa kanya!
English - I feel so shy to come with him/her!

hiligaynon - Ngaa amo ni nabatyagan ko kung makita ko sa man!
Tagalog - bakit ganito yung nararamdaman ko pag nakita ko siya!
English - why I feel this when the time time I see him/her.

hiligaynon - matyagan ko na luyag nako sa iya!
Tagalog - sa tingin ko gusto ko talaga siya!
English - I think I like him/her!

hiligaynon - nga-a indi siya madula sa pamisaron ko!
Tagalog - bakit hindi siya mawala sa isip ko!
English - why she/he always roam on my mind!

hiligaynon - malipayon ako pag upod ko siya pirme!
Tagalog - masaya ako pag kasama ko siya palagi!
English - I am happy every time we've been together!

These are the Hiligaynon terminology that you can use and apply this on your conversation when you visit the Bacolod. These are just basic words that commonly use by people here.
Lets talk some other day the other words for you not to be overloaded with information.
