Vigan City is located in the northwest of the Philippines. It is one of the most history-rich city in the Philippines and it is one of the most preserved historic city in the Philippines. It is a town which was mainly influenced by the Spaniards who colonized the Philippines for 300 years. It is home to the famous Calle Crisologo, Baluarte Zoo, and many more.
Actually, this is the city where my family came from. Almost 30 years ago, my grandparents decided that we will move to Mindanao for greener pasture. Leaving means they have to leave everything here in Vigan including our land, home, and especially our cousins and relatives. It was indeed a difficult decision as they have to start all over again in a very far away place.
Many years went by, my family decided that we should go visit the city where we came from. It is a way of giving us the perspective of the city where we could have been and reconnecting with the relatives we left behind. It always good to keep in touch with your family when you have been away for a very long time.
During this trip, I was excited and pumped as it is my first time going there. Emotions rush as days coming near to our travel. I cannot hide the excitements that have grown for the past months upon learning we will go there.
Upon arriving at Vigan, my cousins decided that we should tour the city because we all have not been around the city. And it is the best way to know the city by touring it.
Touring the museum was actually a good start of our tour. It helped us to us to connect more to our relatives.
After finishing the tour around the library, we immediately went to the Baluarte Zoo. Baluarte Zoo is a zoological park in Vigan, Ilocos Sur Philippines. It is owned by Chavit Singson. By far, the largest zoon I've ever been to. It is quite unique from another zoo because it does not only feature animals but also the amazing structures around the area.
The Dinosaurs was massive. When I say massive, it is 2 storey high. It was like being eaten by the real one. It was made to surely copy the real one. Watching it made me realized how scary it is if the dinosaurs are still alive today.
Our trip concluded at the Calle de Crisologo. We bought some souvenirs for our friends back in Mindanao. All items there were relatively cheap and spending your money was really worth it with the things you can buy there.
After eating our dinner, we took our first family picture with our relatives in Vigan. The experience was one of the most memorable things happened to us. It rekindled our relationship with our relatives in Ilocos who were once the closest family we had. Though we live in very far away places, still our family will always try to connect even just for a few days because, for us, the family is one of the few things money can't really buy. We're glad we had this trip.
