The day my friend told me to try street photography
I'm not really a morning person, or the type of person that wakes up full of energy and ready to face the day with enthusiasm. I actually need time to prepare and ready myself before I step outside for a new day.
"Rj. Rj, wake up. Let's go out and take pictures." my friend said as he tried to convince me to get up. Not feeling like going out, I just uttered a grunt and closed my eyes. "Let's go. Let's go." he continued persistently as he threw a pillow on me. So I got up, washed my face and prepared to go out.
I'm just an amateur photographer taking pictures as a hobby and obviously street photography isn't my thing. Being an introverted kind of guy, taking pictures along the streets with people in it is kind of embarrassing and sometimes makes me anxious. How to do street photography anyway? I asked him and I got the most helpful response 😑. "Just take pictures of anything you see along the streets", he said. Oh, okay. I shouldn't have asked I thought and just laughed. Sarcastically.
Well, I'll just take pictures then.
So this is my first shot. A photo of the famous Session road of Baguio City intersected by Mabini street.
Okay, I think I can do this I thought. Just take picture of anything and it might turn out good.

Another shot, this time at Harrison road. This road is actually busy during rush hours on weekdays. One of the major roads used when going in and out of the city proper. Moreover, every night at 9pm, half of the road's lane closes and becomes a bazaar or a shopping district. From clothes to shoes to bags and accessories, and different kinds of street foods. The city calls it Night Market. Here's a sneak-picture of it at night.
Snap-shots using my smartphone
So where do beginner photographers go? Of course at Burnham Park. Lol. Just kiddin, but a park is always a nice place to take pictures. Lots of people, lots of happenings and a neat place.
Those brave souls rowing their boats along the dangerous waters
Mind you guys, there weren't really any sharks or crocodiles in the lake. :) However, some old folks would tell you that during the early days of the lake there were different kinds of fishes living in it.
Now it's just wooden boats crossing the lake and a muddy floor down below.
Moving on from the lake, I found a pair of boots left on the ground.
I used to wear this kind of shoes during our Cadet Advancement Training in High school. It was a tough year but it was fun still.
Speaking of training, several platoons of cadets in training were having there drills at Melvin Jones Grandstand that day. Kind of nostalgic actually.
Standing in line, hands behind back, you better not move and just pay attention and wait for the command.
So I guess that was my first amateur street photography adventure. I did took some more photos but mostly macroshots.
Okay I'll leave you with that photo of a cactus.
Thanks for passing by :)
Happy Holidays!
