How I'm Connected to Kim Jong Un

The Theory of 6 Degrees of Separation is the idea that every human on earth is connected by 6 or fewer steps through a network of relationships. The theory was originally introduced in 1929 by Frigyes Karinthy, a Hungarian playwright. A relationship is defined as any interaction you may have had with a person in your lifetime.

Let me give you an example

A couple of years ago, I met Dennis Rodman at the Chicago O’Hare Airport. Dennis Rodman is known to be a close friend of Kim Jong Un. Therefore, I am connected to Kim Jong Un through 2 degrees of separation. If you comment on this article and I respond, we will have had an interaction. Therefore, you will be connected to Kim Jong Un through 3 degrees of separation. Everyone you’ve ever interacted with will be connected to Kim Jong Un through 4 degrees of separation, and so on.

Does this theory have any merit? Probably not, considering the fact that there are still native tribes that have lived in isolation for thousands of years. Microsoft conducted a study that concluded that on average, people are separated by 6.6 degrees of separation. However, this study was based on internet connectivity and disregards the fact that there are still 4 billion people in the developing world without internet access.

It’s still an interesting concept to think about.

Please respond so I can be connected to Kim Jong Un!

Connection granted

Haha! Connect me to him as well. :D

Connected!

I want to be CONNECTED!

You got it!

Gotta love kimmy. The guy who banned sarcasm. Because he thought people "only agreed with him ironically."

It's not very often that you find a leader who's just as willing to blow up his own people as he is the rest of the world

Not even including executing them for unauthorized international calls.

Apart from George Bush jnr and snr, BIll Hillary Clinton,

if you meet 1000 people throughout your whole life, who all each meet 1000 people then you are already one person away from 1,000,000 and if each of them met another 1000 that would already be a billion. After a few more multiplications its exponential so it does make sense that we are only a few people away even without technology.

I can definitely understand why it makes sense on paper but what makes me skeptical about it is the places that are relatively isolated from the rest of the world. Places like North Korea make me skeptical, where millions of people live but only a handful of people have had contact with the outside world. Plus if you factor in the North Sentinelese, who still haven't had contact with civilization, the theory completely falls apart. But it's still interesting to think about and definitely fun to map out your connections.

Establish a connection with supreme leader (idiot)

Connection with Lord Kimmy established

Ermm, as for Kimmy's value goes, I will just leave my sig here. :)

It’s still an interesting concept to think about.

You made me go wayyy back!
