Jack just bought his very own 'tiny home' for less than $50,000 and I have to say this thing is pretty decent. I know couples who are struggling to pay mortgage payments on their very own tiny apartments that are highly overpriced, and here's Jack who isn't even 35 yet and his home is already paid for and he's in the clear. Perhaps not everyone could get used to having such a minimalist lifestyle, living in such a small area, but for those who can they can really save themselves a lot of money.
As more people continue to struggle with housing costs it's on fitting that they are going to be looking to cheaper options and the quickest way to obtain ownership of a property without having to sign themselves up for decades of hefty payments. The tiny homes allow people to own a home a lot sooner and depending on how much you want to spend you can also choose to customize and design the tiny home in order to fit your own different needs and tastes.
Right now it's said that Atlanta, Georgia has the largest tiny house movement in the U.S. but there are also other growing movements in Detroit, throughout California, and other areas. Tiny homes are designed in order to meet all of your basic needs but they just don't leave a lot of extra space for much else. Depending on how much money is spent, there are some quite spacious tiny home models out there to be found, and they all promote a minimalist lifestyle.
Many people who own big homes, that come along with big mortgage payments, will often be too busy stressing and struggling with working and trying to make payments for the house, that it takes away the time that could be spent enjoying their lives. This is one reason why many people seek to opt for a tiny house, because they want more freedom and happiness in their lives. And for those who don't want to be stuck trying to pay off something for the rest of their lives, a tiny home makes it easy for them to become a homeowner in much less time.
It may look like the individual is living a small life on the outside, but on the inside they are living a big life by being able to have more time for what they want and by saving themselves from being enslaved with mortgage payments that would eventually cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars.
If you don't have to worry about expensive housing payments, then it is going to help free up a lot of time and potential funds for you that could go to other desirable endeavors that you are passionate about. It's no wonder the tiny home trend continues to grow.
$50,000!!!
That's INSANE!
I grew up in a house that was MUCH bigger and MUCH cheaper, and it had land.
note: california prices were (and are) MUCH more expensive than small town Texas.
That said. Except for the price I agree. I'm particularly interested in ShantyBoats (tinyhouses that float)
Something really needs to be done about the price, they are orders of magnitude too high. New building techniques should be developed or something.
Yeah that price is way too expensive for such a very small house.
In my place, that amount can build a nice and good looking 150 sq m. house.
some ppl will spend that just on a car lol and he's now got a house for life, mind you his was pretty high quality/brand new and customized to his own taste, many other friends are stuck with mortgages upwards of 200,000 so that'll be 30+ years for them - haven't heard of shanty boats! gonna look that up! thx for sharing :)
Here you go. ShantyBoat Living

We're thinking about building a few of these. Thanks for the post
Very similar to living on a boat! Small space to live in, but the opportunity to live a life outside of the norm.
