All around I see people consumed by negative emotions. Why would someone sulk around on a day that could be otherwise considered perfect?
Something or someone they view with importance is either lacking or in danger. It is a universal law of the mind. For example, in support of this being a hard truth, we'll try to tackle the perspective needed.
Imagine.
You lost your home, your family, your hobbies, and your ability to regain any of the material things you just lost. You would hopefully also lose your well-being, as such a catastrophic loss is worth its weight in emotion. Feel the emotions, come to terms with how you would truly feel.
Now lets take a step back. The only reason we feel such weighted emotion is because as a society (constant exposure) we place value on building up our home, our family, and our personal pursuits. Now take away their value, as if you never cared about your log cabin, your beautiful family, or all the hard work that went into your business. By controlling where we focus this ethereal value, we can essentially design our lives.
Now cranking back the wheel towards more joyful pursuits, why do we not actively place such value where we desire? If we can steer our lives in whatever direction we please, why don't we? Why would such an intelligent species hold themselves down?
Is it because we are blinded by the surging river of expectations and ideals that the media feeds us? The very same media that society worships? Similar to that of a dog begging for table scraps, we as a collective mass, beg for purpose and reason.
Take control of your mind and practice self awareness. If you sulk around your day surrounding yourself with negative thoughts of what you used to have, or have never had, you will never find joy. Surround yourself with gratitude and love, make a difference in the world and actively push yourself towards a better mindset. Our mind is our castle, and the world is our Kingdom. Be a merciful and graceful leader, not a tyrant.
Tell me what you believe, and how you push yourself.
