RE: The Cowardly Mindset of "It's Extreme to Push Your Opinions of What's Wrong"

in #philosophy7 years ago

Hmmm, the more I think about it, the more I conclude that truth, love, fear, and violence are not human created constructs. love and fear are just emotions, chemicals in the brain. Violence has a pretty clear cut definition, as does truth.

Right and Wrong are based more on opinion; very strong opinions. Opinions that are usually very hard to disagree with. By your definition of evil above, abortion is evil under all circumstances. Self defense is evil. Correcting a dislocated shoulder, etc.

No pain, no gain.

Again, I'm playing devil's advocate here. I don't disagree with you I just didn't want to be a yes-man. I've taken this a bit too far though so I'm done arguing for argument's sake.

Sort:

Willful intent on hurting those who did no harm. I forgot to specify more clearly, which can happen. Harming those who did harm is not evil. Self defense might harm someone who is harming, which makes it not violence, but force against violence.
