I know. But my soul remembers the land that touches your home. It was 1983 and I was 19. It was a profound experience in my life. The Shona people told me that Africia gets into one's soul. And that there would always be a restlessness and longing in me till I return. Now I'm an "Old man," a Babba and know that what they told the younger me was and remains true. I am living just south of Birmingham, Alabama, USA.

Why not return to Africa? My soul is bound to this place. I still need to explore more of this continent. I can only imagine what you experienced then. You are truly lucky to have experienced that.

I would love to hear the night sounds of the bush once more around a fire. I remember gazing into the sea of new constellations above my head. The sights and smells and pace of the place fit me. I need to return. Thank you for being here.

I hope you find your way back to this beautiful place, and when you come back, that it is the same or even better than you remembered.

Look at the Southern Cross for me tonight. :)
