6 Hardest things to accept about life.

in #philosophy7 years ago (edited)

1 Age catches upon all of us:

Human beings are bound to be deceased. You can even say death itself is disease that each individual has. Your body starts to weaken and suddenly all those things that you once could do once with vigour and as your body starts to weaken with time, your youthful looks fade. You lose your sense of purpose, things that once provided satisfaction in your life and a sense of fulfillment start to change and with each passing day, it feels more like an routine.

2 We will have regrets:

You have made mistakes overtime. You will make even more mistakes. And it's not correct that all of us lie awake at night fulfilled and happy with the decisions we made. We simply learn to carry and supress our deep hurt about things we should have done instead. You have lived a long life to feel horrible about the things that you should have or not have said. We often let big dreams go unfulfilled and key opportunities slip by.

3 Life is not fair:

Numerous people always complain about time, income, circumstances, misfortune. But look at those around you. At least one person would have it way worse than you.

4 There are no instructions for life:

No answer sheets or patterns. These things do not work at all. Even if you had an idea how life should look like, or the pattern that worked for many years to come, society changes itself, technology develops at an rapid pace and, you have no idea what will life look like in a few decades. Don't waste your time on guessing, rather make yourself stronger, more robust. Fast learners and those able to adapt quickly will have a huge advantage. Darwin's theory is at work.

5 Success is not as easy as you think:

The internet, media and social media tricks us a lot as to how easy it is to reach some kind of amazing success. Almost everyone who tries doesn't make it at all. Success: "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do"

6 This isn't an excuse to stop trying:

Most of us consider themselves victims of circumstances or misfortune and believe then it's ok to stop trying. But what happens when you stop trying is that you are forsaking the opportunity to make progress. "Strong People will automatically stop trying if they feel unwanted. They won't fix it or beg. They will just walk away."

I hope you found that helpful and start reflecting on ways to slowly accept these difficult truths as when you learn to accept rather than expect, you most certainly will have lesser disappointments.
