Once again, the stoic philosophers nail it on the head. So often we have the knowledge to know what we SHOULD do or how we SHOULD act, yet we deceive ourselves into thinking or acting in a way that we know we shouldn't.

We, indeed, are often our own worst enemies. There's nothing more painful than watching individuals making the same mistakes again and again. It's even more painful when it's an entire species.
Yes, if it was just individuals then you expect that. It seems to be the human race as a whole that is going down that path.
Sometimes I wonder if A.I. will be the tool that helps us out of the destructive cycle that we find ourselves in. The trouble, I think, has always been that individuals don't recognize the depth of the problem until we hit middle age.
AI has the potential to be our saviour or our downfall.
