Love

I saw a deeply disturbing video today of chinese people roasting dogs alive. I think to myself, how can one use a blowtorch on a living animal or a human. I think, how could anyone be so cruel. But then I think about all you sick fucks out there. You are all cruel in your own ways. We are lowly evolved beings, no matter how much you might fancy yourself.

And maybe you say to yourself, I don't roast dogs alive. But do you eat lobster or crawfish? I'm sure boiling something alive is a painless way to go. Do you eat veal? Torchering baby animals for their short lives so you can have a piece of "oh so tender meat"... Or do you set roach traps so you can condemn a whole colony of beings to die a slow, painful death? Maybe you set glue mouse traps so the mouse dies a slow, and agonizing death. Or maybe you just pick up your meat at the grocery store, completely oblivious and uncaring of the quality of life and death of the beast on which you feast.

My point is, we are dumb beasts and we live by the same rules as dumb beasts. Life feeds on life. Being alive is suffering. And the ONLY force that allows us to become more than our DNA allows is love. God is love. Love is the most amazing thing in the universe, and it is ours to choose.

Have you really ever pondered on what love truly is? It is practically undefinable. It doesn't spout from our brains or our hearts. Love is not an emotion. Love is the most powerful force in the universe. Love is divinity. Love allows us to grow. Love can not be seen or quantified. Love can not be created or destroyed. Love can not be bought or sold. There is no drug that can be taken to fill you with love. Love is a choice. It's your choice.

Love is not the opposite of hatred, just as darkness is not the opposite of light. Darkness is merely the absence of light, just as hatred is merely the absence of love. Love allows us to transcend this flesh and become one with God.
