Follow up Video - Not Poor Anymore?

in #philosophy6 years ago (edited)

It might be important for context to read the post I'm referring to. In truth, as much as it frustrated a couple of people, as much as I too don't like when stories don't have endings, that was kind of the plan when I was writing it.

I hope that this video more or less explains my positions on this matter and that it inspires someone to share some of their wisdom with me as well. To all those who commented, even the once who expressed some frustration, thank you very much. It means a lot to me.

Much Love

Someone I know who travels a lot says that you only learn how to make good use of time in airports after you've had the experience of missing a few flights. You get an understanding of the time costs of failing and can make better decisions because of it.

I think money is the same way. People think a lot about constantly growing, and desperately try to avoid losses, but every time I lose a larger amount I find that I become more confident and more effective.

By that definition Mark Zuckerberg is having a great week.

Poly... you've managed to pack so much wisdom in a short comment and at the same time make me laugh my ass off. I almost sad there is no such thing as the Witt awards

Money has a high possibility of making you very poor given that the envy it can cause in the people closest to the person in question. I've had a lot of money at one time in my life and it caused me to lose some family and friends who turned out to only value me for what I could give them in material (notably the money itself). I am to this day sorrowful over the loss, even though they aren't the kind of people I want in my life to begin with. On the flip side of that, I have learned a lot about real wealth by being both poor and rich financially and seeing both sides of the equation. It can be a struggle to live moment to moment and enjoy life, but if one can get to that point, the richness comes from just being in the moment and enjoying the natural world. I like to get stoned a lot and play my guitar, or love on my dogs or all three. When I'm doing those things I feel like the richest being in the universe. Simple things. <3

I love it... knowing your truth is the biggest part of the battle.

Hi meno. I agree with your thoughts regarding the meaning of wealth. People relate it to money but it is more than that. You have to be happy and healthy otherwise what is the point. Your life is wealthy if you have all 3. Happiness, health and money. It doesn't need to be a lot of money either. Worry free.

My ultimate goal is probably more connected to personal peace than anything. I'm surprised I didn't mention it... Oh well, I just did!

:)

If you have all 3 then you have personal peace. People need to be worry free as stress is a killer.

I'm sure many know this too... I've even read that its a mental health crisis at the moment. Crazy thing to think about.

I hope the low quality video matters little. I'm using my old cell phone and not the one I usually borrow for the recordings. My hope however is that the message is clear.

:)

Didn't even notice about the low quality.
