I'm familiar with that approach as well my friend. The deeper question, or where it gets conflicting, is when there is no absence of good so to speak.
A loving father praying for a child to overcome cancer, and the prayer going unheard (seemingly). That kind of thing. I think you would agree that judging the father (in my example) for lacking enough faith, or something along those lines is reprehensible. This is further conflicting if we think about the innocence of a child and the suffering (unnecessary imo) it went through.
