Agreed.. rejection only hurts when you have some expectations. You expect something to happen and it goes the other way so you feel sad but if you accept the way it is and do not expect others to be same as you then you are in the state of nirvana always happy no worries. Because worrying won't make it good it will make it much worse.

I think you mean that each human being should have a position in various decision making scenarios. Acting out of his will, will lead he/her to act contrary to his/her will and become useless to ourselves (the inside) and to the community (the outside).
