That was actually in one of my earlier posts which seemed to first attract one of the steem bots and then steemcleaners to punish me for copying it from my own site, even though I had a link to my site in the post...
That's beautiful, though, Christopher. That's where the real priceless millions are at. Many Blessings to you too, my friend, for an awesome weekend.
You are making a remarkable recovery. I really admire and respect that. Doubt I would have done it... but perhaps.
Chores to do today. Got to get the swamp cooler going. Supposed to be in the 90's this coming week.
I just follow my passion here mostly. Not many posts the last month or two.
I spend most of my social media time on Minds with far more success than Steemit. You are one of maybe 2 friends left here who still hasn't setup shop over there too. You make crypto, not limited like steemit, no whales, far better visibility. One of the few areas steemit wins out is in the html markup offered here in posts/comments. I've gotten 3 times the subscribers and followers on steemit in half the time with over 136,000 views. If nothing else Steemians can simply post a link to their steemit posts, in part because steemit posts look better on Minds than Steemit (LOL), can get more visibility than on steemit and some steemians on Minds see, click over to upvote and comment on steemit as well. Of course you have to network, subscribe, like (no limits) remind (like resteem) and comment and doing so you get a share of the daily rewards. I even make crypto on the days I don't log on. Many Blessings
I took a look briefly, but it seemed to me it was more like Facebook. Lots of memes and pictures with quotes. You know that kind of stuff. I didn't really see any posts like what we have here. Writing. Did I miss something? Sounds like it.
I must confess, I am not interested in another Facebook kind of thing.
So illuminate my mind...from your comment it sounds like there are deeper posts over there. Whats the standard? Appreciate your help on this.
Hi Christopher, Yeah, Minds is a real social media platform much like facebook and twitter, but where free speech and privacy still reign fairly well. Steemit really doesn't have either (especially privacy) and isn't that much of a social network per se, but more a blog with very little visibility, because of all it's inherent flaws and bots to try and compensate. There is a blog section on Minds, but it, like Facebook and twitter, is where people often post their blog links from there or other sites to in order to drive traffic. As you say, it also is mostly, pics, quotes, videos, all kinds of stuff. etc., because, simply put, that's what reaches the most masses. In half the time as here I've gotten in far more deeper conversations and made more active and engaging friends there than here largely because of the visibility.
There are a lot of people who are on both and post their steemit links, where the steemit graphics actually look better, amazing enough, to both get paid credit on Minds, if you network correctly to build a following who like and pass it on, as well as drive more traffic to steemit. Lots of people do that. I know many people who tried to join steemit on Minds, but steemit hasn't been allowing new members on the last few months at least as of several weeks ago, because of all the fake accounts and bot accounts to game the system.
I can tell you I make many times more there than on steemit. It now seems fairly easy to make $10-15 a day ($300-450/month) just sharing, networking, subscribing, liking, reminding (like resteeming) and commenting a few hours a day just like any other social network and the mainnet for rewards still hasn't gone totally live. In fact there are days I haven't been able to go on and still made something, because of my subscribers still liking and reminding. Plus, they have an active referral program too. So it makes it easier to tell people about. That's not to say Minds is anywhere near perfect, but they are the best one I know of with the most pros at the time.
Hmnn... so what is your name or tag over there? I'll have to come check it out. And I'm assuming they use a cryptocurrency. What is it? Is it redeemable in $$? How long have you been in MInds? Does one develop "communities" like here? How many people are over there? Is it a blockchain platform too?
And what of EOS? Will they have a system like Steemit that they either promote or facilitate?
This is my channel over there: Minds. I've been on for 6 or 7 weeks now. They had more than a million subscribers nearly 2 months ago and given the 10 or so new subscribers I get a day, I'm guessing it's now closer to 2m or more. I'm not really sure what you mean by communities on Steemit, as I've never really seem any except on off shoot programs like Discord. Minds has a ton of groups. Currently, they now seem to be in the final phase of the Ethereum testnet for rewards, that's still offchain until the final mainnet launch, which I think may happen anytime now the next month or two. I'm guessing soon, given the last rewards change. Their token is called Mind and each one is convertible to 1 USD on the Ethereum blockchain, last I read. I know some have pulled theirs out into Ethereum, but most, like me, are waiting for the mainnet to kick in, as I'm guessing it will be easier and go up in value being traded on exchanges.
As far as EOS, I am very excited about that one. It launched successfully last Friday and has been holding fairly steady in the general crypto sell off over the weekend as the top performer of the top 51 cryptos over the last week. It's got the 3rd highest volume and is closing in on Ethereum's volume. I'm so frustrated in the Steemit scam trapping the rest of my funds that I want to put into EOS, but oh well... Se la vi :) It worries me the crash of Steem and how it has fallen from the top 20 down to number 32 as I write this. I think what is happening is a mass migration over to EOS in preparation for Dan's Steemit II, which I'm sure will be given another name, given the animosity Ned has towards Dan. I sure hope you are powering down whatever you have stuck in SP, given the many months it takes to get out and that I fully expect Dan to roll out the next version soon.
OK. I signed up. I'll give it a shot. Will have to figure it out and all that kind of stuff. In the meantime I've let Steemit falter a bit. Not paying attention to followers and not posting enough, etc. Just one of those normal downturns I suspect. Disappointed I suppose, even though it seems I've been doing quite good for only having started posting in the first week of February. I've been considering how long it will take me to finally get to the point of making any real money and it will be another year or so. Groan. I am pretty motivated because I've had to retire from my painting contracting business (got chemically poisoned and could no longer be around the stuff...and had other health issues too). Anyway, the bottom line is I rank among the millions of Americans who just scrape by. Barely. For years could not work full time and had major health bills. Cleaned me out. Oh, well, I'm not bitching. I have learned a great deal, and the illness was in many ways a blessing. But that's another story. I still deal with it on a daily basis but for the most part have it under control.
QUESTION: OK so I've heard the rumors of Steemit II or whatever it may be called. Is it a rumor or not? Will it be essentially the same thing as Steemit only with some needed improvements (like Hajin not being able to manufacture $$ by abusing the system)? I am very interested. I do sorely wish I had some $$ to invest. I certainly would. I think EOS will thrive and kick ass. Would like to ride that wave at least a little bit. Maybe I'll sell one of my grandchildren into slavery or something. (Kidding of course).
I was listening to some EOS vids a month ago or so, but it was all technical stuff and I lost interest. And I did not hear anything affirmative about a SII coming. Must have missed that. Are there some vids or posts or something I can read about it?
Many blessings and thanks for the headsup on all of this.
