Is having everything everything equivalent to having nothing?

in #philosophy7 years ago (edited)

Talking with my mom, a commentary with humorous motives rumbled in my head for a moment: "I would like to have a lot of money for I buy and be happy."... Before this comment I asked myself the following: Does money buy happiness and fulfillment?

We all fight since we are young so that as adults we simply laugh at our falls without regrets with a great insurance that will solve our lives; everything to be carefree and of course, stable, with a home of their own, goods obtained from our effort and comforts.

It is very common to see television celebrities and envy their life full of glamor and luxury, those who can lose or donate 1 million dollars and not even hurt because they have 6 more; In spite of all the acting and fantasy that shows us the show of their lives, many of them do not achieve genuine happiness despite their successful lives, why?

I think the decisive thing is not the amount of money you have, but how you behave towards society with the same benefit.

We spend all our lives looking for money and money for a future, that we forget what will really determine our happiness: live. Live responsibly but with emotion and experiences. And not only this, but surround yourself with genuine people, not those who seek others for personal interests, surround yourself with people who change your life for the better.

Sometimes we focus so much on meeting people who can propel us professionally that we forget those that impel us in the spirit, that make us feel good, that teach us to be better.

I believe that with these habits having or not having money we will live life fully, we will have everything without having anything, instead of having everything and having nothing at the same time; Let's show that money and power is not synonymous with pride.

Sort:

We live in a world where we need money to survive, but as you say, money does not buy you happiness, happiness will give you how you behave with that money. There are people with a lot of money, who feel really poor, because they do not know if the friendships or the love they have are true or of interest. Have a day and be immensely happy.

You are absolutely right, and the same for you, thank you very much :)

I agree, yet would like to add a nuance.

As I see it, money does not buy happiness. Rather it eliminates problems akin to inconveniences.

And if you so much of it that you draw unwanted attention, it becomes a problem in itself.

Everything is a matter of not abusing !, knowing that it is something necessary to live in this world, but that it does not become the total center of our life because we will lose our heads.

To the question in your title, my Magic 8-Ball says:

As I see it, yes
