Haha, on a lot of levels you can do similar work with fasting as with psychedelics. Different teachers :)
The key to both is intentionality. Skipping meals while gaming (definitely an old pass time) brings some of the physiological benefits of fasting, but not so much the psychological :)
But, 3 days minimum is required for many physiological benefits. So, unless you were gaming for 3 days ;) However, if you were also going without sleep and overworking your mind it could have negated some benefits...
