I love the poetic way you write.

Have you ever considered that it is possible to have total free will and yet zero control over where you wind up?

Picture a reconfigurable maze where at every intersection there are doors that the Mazemaster can open or close in response to your free will moves. Regardless of what choices you make, the maze can reconfigure to lead you ultimately to exactly where the Mazemaster wants you to be.

Yeah. That's what we're up against.

I don't believe in a Mazemaster but we are definitely in a maze! ❤️❤️

We can control our actions. We do control them. Even when we give up the control or delegate it to somebody / something else it is still our decision to do so.

So we have control But if we live under the impression that we are in control then it is a damn good impression. Good enough for me.

Eh, I am boring myself with this control speech. To cut it short - 'no free will' concept is just an excuse for us to give up and blame others for our inactions.

I am a believer in free will and immortal soul.

I also find resonance in what Dr. Glasser is preaching with his Choice Theory.

BTW: his is my firs reading of your posts. You are a great personality, congratulations. I am humbled and will learn from you if I may. Thank you.

For me personally I propose a third option. I believe that there is a God that knows our every waking thought and what each day will bring for us. At the same time I believe that we can choose to do as we wish without interference.

Kind of like a parent knowing their child is going to sneak out to a party but that same parents knowledge not forcing the child to act one way or another.

It's a fascinating debate and I myself can definitely be wrong. It's something that cannot be proven. It requires a tremendous amount of faith.

I'm not looking to debate religious things with anyone in this post, but I believe that the complexity of our bodies and how each cell contains incredible things seen only under extreme magnification and how each organ works together to form a working breathing body.

That leads me to believe we are something like a Rolex watch. If you find a Rolex in a park you don't think "I guess the park made this Rolex over time" you think someone owns this and someone put each piece together.

The famous evolutionist Richard Dawkins would adamantly disagree with my beliefs. That is quite alright. We can both disagree amicably and love one another despite our beliefs and without any animosity or belittling of an opposing viewpoint.

Astrology is interesting to me as well. I have wondered if you can be "more" of a certain sign if born in the middle of the month and day range verses being born a day before a sign changes to another. And what astrological source or book is most reliable as for horoscopes since there are so many different sources.

I could go on further, but I don't wish to make others comments need too much scrolling to get to.

I am curious about your former name and how you chose your current one (would be an interesting post if you haven't touched on it already) or if you wish to share in the comments I would definitely like to know. You have quite a unique name which would definitely make sure that you won't meet many other @rok-sivante s

This post deserves much more love than it has received so far.

didn't think I was gonna go there publically, but fuck it...
A Tale Of Transformation: Why I Legally Changed My Name A Decade Ago...

re: astrology... yep, timing of month has different influences. I don't think there's one source/book... something that requires lengthy study from multiple sources before putting the pieces together to see from the multiple angles necessary to really grasp...

I've come to discover the opposite of control is allowance. It's a very different animal motivated by a compassionate/service to others kind of rooting system. Control tends to be fear-driven and what many of us are used to depending on age, family, circumstance, all unique to the individual.

I've learned more about myself as I released judgement of others by accepting and respecting the choices they make even if I wouldn't make them myself. It wasn't easy at first, I had a lot of issues. :D

Thank you for sharing this, I enjoyed it very much. Blessings to you!

I agree wholeheartedly. Advice is usually only welcomed when asked for. People are free to make their own choices and pressing the issue just causes unnecessary tension. As long as no immirnent danger is at hand, I tend to only give advice to people I know truly value my thoughts.

It's especially hard when you are on the other side of an obstacle and you a friend or sibling going down the same path. Sometimes it's best to let people learn the hard way, even though it can hurt your heart to know what lays ahead.

First of all man, your posts are getting much more complex everyday - so props to that Rok. The thing I want to point out is this: What benefit even exists from exerting full control over our lives? Is ABSOLUTE CONTROL not a path towards ego? Isn't it better to except with humbleness that we ARE the whole universe compounded into a fractal position containing all, and accept the path we are guided towards simply because it is the path that most serves and is the path of least resistance ? I believe that we do have full control....if I was determined I could jump from the highway by my house onto the freeway below....but it would be very hard as I am divinley guided not to. I think sometimes having control means Surrendering control. @rok-sivante ..... by the ay, if you don't mind me asking, what as your original name??

And Look out for #mind-expanding-mondays XD

wise young man, you are.

really didn't think you were gonna pull it out of me, but fuck it...

Hey brother, I'm on a similar course as well lol, but largely different content. Well written dude! Most of your points never crossed mine - there's so much to write about this subject!

Lol. How's that for timing...:-)

Life is for deep kisses, strange adventures, midnight swims and rambling conversations!

Of course. And chocolate. And coffee. Maybe sex (no more than 7 time per week because we only have 7 days in a week).

It is true there are only 7 days per week, but why limit yourself, as there are 168 hours in that same week.

3 times a day please! I'm not for everyone lol

Ha ha! :-p

What's the problem with sex more than once a day...? :-)

for girls: stack overflow
for guys: infinite is good.

For myself I don't know how much control we have, there's an argument that because our brains are made up of atoms just like the universe is made up of atoms, we're ultimately clockwork, but I think we do better, better mood, more motivation, if we believe we can control our actions, so until more evidence comes in, I'll believe humans have at least some free will.

Such an interesting topic. I like how you had so many "maybe"s in there! Very fitting for the content. :) I just wrote an article about how quantum entanglement may have something to say about free will - you may find it interesting.

What I have always said to any man that has introduced himself to me. I don't know. I want to continue to discover myself in you.
