What happens when a man chooses to hold to a grudge and balance the perceptible scales by taking matters into his own hands? The newest entry in "In the Service of the King" answers the question. Too often people think that every grudge is to be met with retaliation and comeuppance to remove the slight, when the holy and wise thing to do is to forgive and let the Lord judge them as He will. Paul knew what He was talking about when he declared in Romans 12:9 that vengeance was the Lord's, and He will repay according to His good will and pleasure. Being the better man against a person's trespass is hard in the moment, but that is when one steps outside of themselves, disembodies themselves from the situation, and applies a more objective angle to examine the situation. Grace to others always, now and forever.
