A friend broke it down for me into two distinctions: "Live to work" (i.e. dedicating your whole life to a pursuit like music, business, etc), or "work to live" which is working a stable job to enjoy a low-stress lifestyle with a house + family + free time.
I'm in category one but a lot of my favorite Steemians, like you and @meesterboom, fall into the latter half... which goes to show that each person has their own way
You just have to live for the living I think regardless of how that is done. Although work, blegh. If you told me I would be working for the man when I was in my twenties and thirties I would have told you you were mad!!!
