I agree. We aren't free and that's the price for living (and having the benefits) of living in a society I guess. I could go full"Into the wild" mode, leave everything and everyone I've ever known behind and I would probably find my "true" self in let's say 15 years? How long would it take for me to be alone, in a place without influences of any sort, to feel like I would think and completely independent? Can you even ever reach that point? Nevertheless, I will never find the answers to that, because I have come to terms that living in a society has it's costs. That's fine with me.

I would say yes but the conclusion may arrive that community living is more important.

It does have its costs but the problem is, so many individuals are finding ways to reduce their own at the expense of others.
